Get your facts right. Chagaev was stripped of his bogus 'champion in recess' title when he fought Wlad; he was essentially (and rightfully) stripped of his title when he had to spend a whole year out of the ring with injury after he defeated Skelton in his one and only defence.

Actually the Wlad fight did play a part in him being stripped of it. Chagaev was scheduled to fight Valuev in May 2009 - could have been April - but failed a medical due to his hepatitis. The deadline for a fight to be arranged was June 26th, but when Haye pulled out of the Wlad fight Chagaev stepped in rather than try to renegotiate with Valuev's camp and the WBA. Boxing politics most certainly played a big part in Haye winning his paper title.
