    WBA reviewing Cordoba-Rigondeaux

Well well well, now it seems that the WBA will analyze a protest made by the managers of Panamanian boxer Ricardo Cordoba, who lost a split decision on November 13 against Cuban double Olympic Gold Medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux for the WBA interim super bantamweight world title. Cordoba’s managers hope to get a direct rematch. A group of experts may also review the fight video . “That type of fighting generated many comments,” said WBA vice president Gilberto Jesus Mendoza. “The championships committee will analyze them, but everything is a process.” Judges Nelson Vasquez, Puerto Rico (117-109) and Ruben Garcia U.S (114-112) scored it for Rigondeaux. Raul Caiz U.S (114-112) had Cordoba winning.

That's exactly what happens when you leave " doubts " in a win. Even though that Rigo definitely won that fight, by him getting on his bicycle in the last rounds it generated controversy. I hope that Rigondeaux learns from now on to attack more and don't leave any doubt when he wins. Let's see what happens, but either way Cordoba is a sore loser, because he still lost clearly. It seems that Cordoba wants to get Rigondeaux mad inside the ring if the rematch happens, and no doubt this time Rigo will end the job that he didn't finish. Let's see what happens...

    Opinions ??? :good

It´s Cordoba´s nationality. In WBA title fights Panamanians are always favoured to win a decision, even in Germany

Cordoba lost, simple as that. If a rematch happens then Cordoba would lose again.

Cordoba deserves to be favoured for once! How many times has he been on the wrong end of a close decision?

Well, Cordoba didn't do anything to win that fight. He spent the last 6 rounds chasing Rigo around the ring and getting hit in every round by Rigo's combos. Cordoba lost easily the first 6 rounds and also the last 6 rounds. I mean, he clearly lost and that judge who gave Cordoba his vote is either totally blind or totally Biased... :-(

I doubt the rematch takes place but if it does, Rigondeaux will finish the job this time. Rigondeaux better learn from now on, finish the job and don't leave any doubts in the pros... :good

Are you serious? Cordoba was given a complete boxing lesson and badly knockeddown in the first 6 rounds, then in the last 6 he tried to hit Rigondeaux but failed miserably. Speaking about being Biased! :-(

how could he have lost the first six rounds when he put rigo down in the sixth.don't try and sell that fight as a good performance it was godawful and rigo nearly sent 40,000+ plus people to sleep.after rigo got clipped he went back to his am style and played it safe.

This is what is wrong with boxing, a guy that was talking **** before the fight, and didn't do **** during the fight, is asking for a rematch, the only round I saw him win, clearly was d 6th, he threw a jab and found Rigondeaux coming in, that was all he did, even the commentator from Panama was disgusted by Cordoba perfomance. He is a sore loser.

Rigo's knockdown wasn't almost a knockdown. He tipped one glove in the floor and wasn't nearly hit with that punch. But rules are rules and he did touched the floor and as a great amateur that he was he didn't complain because he knows what are the rules. The only round that Cordoba may have won is the 6th ( and tightly ), so the rest went to Rigondeaux. :-(
