Depends, does he care about making money WITHOUT the lineal MW championship? If he's cool with dropping the belt, all good. If he's not, he's quite the little biiiitch considering Golovkin's the #2 at MW and is in fact Cotto's mandatory.

Who at MW generates more cash than Cotto & Golovkin? Nobody. Golovkin needs the Forum now, he's past the StubHub stage in terms of venues. Golovkin also fought in the main room at MSG, something nobody but Cotto has been doing recently.

Wanna fight Canelo for the ultimate payday? Be a fukkin man and drop the belt then. No ifs or buts.

You do know that Alvarez was once upon a time a LWW. And JCC JR debuted as a S FEATHERWEIGHT.

Please, for the love of all that is boxing, don't go on about what some kid weighed when he first began his pro career.

Fact of the matter is, Cotto has been fighting at or about LMW since he entered his physical prime at 29 y/o.

Did Brick-Gloves MargoCHEATO take something out of him, or his one sided beatdown at the hands of Pac at a cw???? IDK, maybe.

But saying the man is anything less than a full fledged SWW is a gross abuse of spin doctoring.

FACT of the MATTER is this.......

Cotto is not a great SWW. He certainly not a GREAT MW either. But he wouldnt be a top 10 WW either. While at LMW and MW he is a top 10 fighter with question.

The ONLY abuse Cotto is getting goes way farther back than this fight.

It goes to his LMW title win over one legged Foreman. His wins over shot Mayorga, and no bricks MargoCHEATO.

When he stepped in with a legit LMW in Trout, he was abused. Exposed.

Point being.......let's not pretend Cotto is a LWW when he is in reality, a solid top 10 LMW. Nothing more, nothing less. :thumbsup

    GOOD.

The mans a warrior, been in plenty of wars he has nothing to really prove at this stage in his career so no need to sign up to get ripped to pieces by a proper monster middleweight. Cotto is a big 147 but a smalll 160. Thats not a fight id really want to watch, everybody knows what the outcome would be and it wouldnt be easy to watch. Unless you really hate Cotto.

I'm actually looking forward to Cotto-Geale. Is it on HBO? Max needs to insert "Golovkin" in every question he asks Cotto in the post-fight interview, assuming he decisions Geale.

If Geale wins, hilarity will ensue.

If Cotto is afraid of Golovkin he should just drop the belt

It is funny enough that he is allowed to defend the WBC belt at a catchweight vs a guy that already was ko'ed by the interim champ

I'm just sayin he is way undersize at middle I'd pick a rake of them to beat him. I'd also pick a good few at 154 aswell. I think he is better at welterweight. I don't think there is as undersized top boxer in any weight class than cotto at 160. Saying he is a coward for not fighting ggg is harsh for me probably the bet p4p fighter right now that's about 2 weight classes bigger. I don't think cotto is any bigger than mayweather, to me he looks stupid at 160.Eubank jr would kill him

Cotto's team has no shame. They won't even guarantee that the winner of a potential Cotto-Canelo fight will face Golovkin. That's the LEAST they could do for Golovkin in this shameless approach to side-stepping.

Cotto's v@gina is sweating hard, right this second.

It's not harsh if Cotto HIMSELF asked for it by gunning for Sergio. That's Cotto's own undoing right there. Fight the lineal MW champ and accept the consequences of having to face the division's #1 contender, or don't fight Sergio at all. And he did.

No problem just drop the belt and go back down to 154.

But he shouldn't be allowed to change the middleweight limit's and duck the interimschamp Golovkin
