I'm a fan of Cotto but I don't think he'll fight Golovkin He likely would get beaten pretty badly and I disagree with your last sentence I don't even think it would be a big payday
So funny, I bet if you ask these haters what they think will happen if three G and Cotto fight you would get "Cotto is gonna get smashed" Compared to what they think will happen if Cotto Canelo fight and it's be a mix of "Cotto wins" or Canelo wins". It's obvious Cotto Canelo lokos to be a far better fight, and yet they want Cotto three G, what idiotic dweebs.
Also note , he had a vol and he used it on Geale.... he shouldve pushed for the Canelo fight , now he wants to keep the belt so he can hand it out to Floyd as a retirment present for Floyd to keep (until he actually quit boxing , no way he defends it even once).
When you said Cotto-GGG wouldn't be PPV you exposed your complete lack of knowledge so I guess your trolling is to be expected. :conf Anyhow, Cotto still has to get past Geale. If Geale makes the Cotto Diva Division weight of 157 without harming himself, this entire discussion is moot because Geale will beat the **** out of Cotto over 12 rounds. Cotto's face going to look like he sat a hornet nest on his head the ticked off the hornets.
scar "cotto vs golovkin is not ppv" he exposed himself yet again that fool is a joke cotto vs martinez was ppv and martinez is nowhere the draw golovkin is
Cotto would take a beating he doesn't need vs GGG. I believe he's earned the right to defend against someone not named Golovkin. He'll probably stop Geale in the second half of the fight and then hopefully get his last famous victory vs Canelo at some stupid super junior middleweight division they created together. The important thing is that he is honorable enough to relinquish the middleweight title and let GGG reign.
Kind of cheap (and stupid) retort there, Scar. The dude made a tongue-in-cheek remark that is on point here if Cotto is unwilling to defend his belt against the best and the mandatory, which happens to be GGG. ---- What it paid would be irrelevant to the world of boxing, while maybe having some relevance to Cotto personally. That's hardly a valid reason for ducking the obvious best in the division who also happens to be his mandatory. This is the single most stupid part of your post. Other than Canelo, who is almost as risky for Cotto as GGG, there is no MW opponent who would bring more $$$ to the table. Maybe in your mind. But he's clearly the best in the division and he doesn't even have a close second. Miguel took a bit of a chance and showed some cojones going after Sergio. Half a round in, it was obvious that NEITHER of the man's knees were working, so Cotto's gamble paid off. A linear title in another division, regardless of how he came by it. Good for him. But If he is to retain any honour, he needs to defend it, at MW, against the mandatory opponents. If not, go back to 154 and face Lara or Canelo or somebody from that division, instead of posturing in a division where he's not a h2h top 5.
i'm at a bit of a loss with this jim. you open your post acknowledging the difference between their situations, then return to acting like there isn't 1.
Cotto has had a long tough career and he is near the end, GGG would literally kill him but everyone s crying for the fight. I get that he is champion but this is a fight he cant win and he's getting a bad touch from fans being called a coward and all that. I think what hes doing is terrible but its the right move for him. Froch has been arsing around lately too there plenty off good fights for him and he held onto the belt for ages before giving it up, same thing with the other belt now aswell. I want to see Froch in another big fight but all anyone else wants to see is 'Froch to get a easy payday, he's earned it'. But Cotto cant even fight geale who'll probably beat him, he has to fight GGG who is levels above P4P and then about 2 weight classes bigger on top of it. He should give them up, but I dont like this 'I want to see x get a payday' and then Cotto has to fight the hardest fight in boxing so people give him a bit of respect.
I don't give a sh!t about Froch finances. The public did their bit for him when they tuned in/bought tickets to see him fight Groves. Anyway, it is a different situation as Froch isn't the lineal champ is he? He's recognised as the number two in the division but he didn't beat the man so he's not holding a lineal championship hostage just an alphabet belt. Meh. Roach and Cotto also have big mouths for guys who clearly don't want the fight. Drop back down to 154 or fight GGG. Simple.
again jim, you're drawing comparisons between 2 different situations. besides, froch just tried to make a fight with his lineal, after vacating the moment he had to make a decision on his 3rd mandatory in succession, while seriously contemplating retirement. if he tried to pay degale off to fight periban you could compare, and we both know you wouldn't be sticking up for him like you are cotto.
