In case you were wondering when and who will be the first to stab boxing's huge tournament, Super Six in the back (also all 5 other fighters and Showtime), wait no longer: Andre Dirrell (or promoter Gary Shaw if you like) requested a rematch order from the WBC, who sanctioned the Carl Froch fight. Although the judges decision was debated and much discussed on these boards, about as many experts had Froch winning as Dirrell, so it was no Martinez vs. Kermit the Frog.

Yet Team Andre Dirrell requested a rematch rule from the WBC, despite knowing the Super Six World Boxing Classic has a very tight schedule with all first 3 round match-ups and more-or-less all dates being set.

Well, **** you Andre and Gary!

Here's the WBC's rule on the request, which is absolute garbage as expected:

"During today’s general assembly meeting, No. 3 ranked super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell of the U.S. requested a rematch of his split decision loss in October against super middleweight world champion Carl Froch of England. The WBC is a strong supporter of Showtime’s Super Six World Boxing Classic super middleweight tournament, in which both Dirrell and Froch are participants. If the rematch could be scheduled without interfering with the tournament, it will be approved. If it cannot, then Dirrell will become the mandatory challenger after the tournament has finished."

So... the WBC supports Super Six... but also approves the rematch, if ... ? But how the **** a rematch (which BTW can happen in SF stages if both move on) can be scheduled without interfering with the tournament? And... if it cannot, Dirrell will become the mandatory after the tournament... well, what the hell happens if loses to Abraham or to anyone else? It's a mess. If the WBC really wanted to support Super Six, they should've said "Dear Andre and Gary, **** the rematch" then ban themselves for cursing.

I'm with Dirrell. They did the right thing. Froch should have been disqualified. Andre should get an immediate rematch, the first fight should be ruled a no contest, and that ref should be suspended for at least 5 years.

Don't really see the point of a rematch for Dirrell.

Obviously the result wouldn't count towards the tournament and the fight would likely impede his preparation for Abraham. He's only got a few months to find some balls, he'd be better off concentrating on that.

Sounds AWFULLY fair from the WBC. If they can do a rematch they will but otherwise, it'll wait til after the tournament. I don't think that's unreasonable at all.

Now should Dirrell have spoken out? Absolutely not. That said if he's still bitching about Froch by the time Abraham gets around, I'm sure the king would clear this up for us.

Im with Super Six..... they signed to fight in the super six, a rematch ****s everything up.... they can have their rematch after the tournament, or... if they keep winning, IN the tournament.

Its a stupid request. There is not enough time to have a fight, and in between now and the end of the super 6 Dirrell could lose twice and still be the mandatory? It makes no sense. He should just let it go and if he is successful as he thinks he will be in the tournament, he will pcik up the WBC and the WBA belt by the end of it, he cant be too sure in his abilities can he?

One thing is for sure though, if it does happen, I will not be watching, it was a crap fight, and hope they both lose their next fights for boring me!

Well I didn't see you requesting a rematch (a 3rd Pavlik-Taylor fight) after the debated 2nd match-up (yep, some experts had Taylor winning no matter what you do). It's a well known fact, that You were against Super Six ever since Pavlik was left out (who never wanted to join, and even if he wanted, he couldn't, due to medical issues). What a surprise you're with the backstabber...

I'm almost certain common sense would step in and intervene if that's the case.

I see nothing wrong with having a rematch of Dirrell/Froch as the undercard bout for the finals (if both fighters are bounced out). I think that's entirely fair.

I don't like Froch or Dirrell. They both SUCK. However, the referee was even more incompetent than the two fighters. Froch got 7 warnings for rabbit punching, and did it about 20 more times without a warning. Froch should have been disqualified: end of story.

But then what's the point? There wouldn't be a title for them to be fighting over by that point so the WBC wouldn't be involved anyway.

This is the WBC. They can create a belt for the sake of creating one. They hand out interim titles like food stamps.

Sides if Dirrell is that worried about the purported injustice, he'll take the fight belt or no belt.
