I'd like to think so, but the way the WBC have handled the Arreola situation Im not too sure. They are slowly becoming not my preferred boxing organisation.

Your concern is well warranted. I just figure if Dirrell drops two fights (going 0-3 total in the tournament), the WBC would simply use common sense and tell Dirrell to come back when he's got some wins going for him.

Dirrell should realize that the people saw what they saw and that losses on boxing records mean zilch. If Dirrell really wants to rematch Froch, he should advance in the tournament and hope that Froch does too. If Dirrell advances and Froch doesn't, then Dirrell gets the last laugh, and will be looking to bigger and better fights...depending on the tournament results. Suck it up and move on Dirrell. Start thinking about Abraham. You have enough on your plate!

Ultimately that's what he needs to do. That said, it's his first ever career loss and I can see why he would have a hard time with such a disputed decision.

It might sound fair, but it's against their own decision to support Super Six. Dirrell/Shaw stabbed Super Six in the back, so at least the WBC, committed to go through with the tournament, should say STFU, instead, they're leaving a door (and probably Gary's and Andre's big mouth) open... that's not fair, that's idiocy coming from the same organizaton who banned Arreola for cursing, ready to ban fathers from corners, any will sanction Berto-Mosley only if Shane apologises for fighting Margarito. :patsch

I think things have changed. The uproar from a very disputed decision has caused them to adapt to their stance. I think that's relatively reasonable.

Well they run the risk of alienating a big member of their tournament. I don't think they can kick them out. Lord knows they need SMWs with Andrade and Bute tied up and Jermain Taylor still in a coma. It's a delicate spot I'd guess.

Unfortunately we've come to expect nothing less.

Maybe he knows that. Maybe the rematch was his getaway plan... well that didn't work out too good, but at least he earned a lot of anti-supporters. He might be booed in his hometown.

I say **** Dirrell. the WBC should ban his for asking for this. He has already made the :deal and now he has lost he wants a new :deal

So after he losses his next two fights he becomes number one contender with an 18 - 3 record!

Do the WBC even care anymore?

It doesnt make sense. They would have to make te first decision a NC, otherwise these two have more fights than other contestants.

He had the balls to go into the lion's den and challenge an undefeated champion on his home turf. He also had enough skill to soundly outland the clumsy Froch who saw more air that night than Michaeal Jordan.

Make it late enough and the crowd will all be too drunk to even cheer on their man. I mean, I thought the Irish drank a lot. But those English fight fans are the biggest lot of drunks I've ever seen.
