Every now and then, Team G Inc. will honor and show appreciation to a current or former boxer for their G ways inside and outside the ring. Today we want to honor The G-Man, Gerald McClellan

Gerald was 31(29)-3 when his career was tragically ended from brain trauma sustained in the Nigel Benn fight where Benn struck McClellan in the back of the head numerous times in the fight :-( Some people don't show enough respect toward boxers and what they go out and do and risk every time they step in the ring. I can say confidently that if he was around today in his prime, we wouldn't be talking about Sergio Martinez as the MW champion.

The G-Man was a G inside the ring for his great chin that allowed him to go to war with Julian Jackson, who some consider P4P the hardest puncher ever. The G-Man also had crazy power himself ending all but 2 of his fights by KO and knocking 20 of those opponents out in the first round.

He was also a G outside the ring and rumor is that's how he got the knickname "G-Man" :yep Most people know about his love dog fighting and that's just one of the things that add to his aura.

    Great chin and crazy power

Can someone scientifically explain how Nigel Benn survived the 1st round?

Huge weight cutter but Gerald had the most brutal left-hook to the body Ive ever seen.

He woulda walked out of hospital in London if his dumbass family didnt demand he come back to the states against doctors orders. Gerald was doing ok until they moved him :-(

He was somewhat technically limited, but he was a huge middleweight, had a good chin and terrific power as you say.

Entered ring just as 10 count ended, ref is allowed to give leeway for him to re-enter ring...

Was hurt for the whole round & ref kept having to break the fight up and was taking time in each break up to speak to the fighters (either language barrier or just bieng nice to benn)

I don't think this was ever proven. It's based on the word of one man, McClellan's cousin, who was(and probably still is) a crackhead.

I've read various interview swith different sources that all talk about his dog fighting & other forms of animal cruelty

Gman was a sadist, not a nice guy but its still tragic what happened to him
