Oh ok.. What about Canelo and GGG or Mayweather and GGG? GGG isn't a ppv star either, but wants one to fight him so he can become one.. But when 2 non ppv stars want to fight, it's ok not to fight because one guess non ppv fight did better than the other guys non ppv.. I get what you guys are saying, but views of this subject and all this ducking talk changes depending on the thread and the fighters...
i am freaking old school on this issue,,,, back in the day when you became ONE of the best at a weight class such as GGG is at mw, you would fight the other ONEs at that weight class FIRST, win those fights and then focus on going up to fight one of the best at the next weight class. Ward is a goof, back in the day you couldn't get away with calling out the smaller guy, if you wanted to call out a guy from another weight class you called out the guy right above you, not BELOW unless you claimed you would go down to HIS weight which is not what Ward is doing. Back in the day if you tried what Ward is doing the reporters would all rush you putting the boots to you until you smartened up and nobody ever reported on it. Ward is a great fighter but he deserves a pack of reporters to take the boots to him.
Well I don't expect Mayweather to move up to fight GGG that's for sure, I don't even expect him to fight GGG at 154, I'm not one of those people and I don't agree with it. As for Canelo, well he's fighting for the middleweight crown and I'll expect him to face GGG afterwards, to be honest, he's been fighting these catchweights for a while now and really he should have moved up (fully) by now. It doesn't seem like he can make 154 comfortably anymore.
more relevant is a joke....ward is a big name in the sport...regardless of rating or attendance...he is a big name in the sport loeffler isnt telling us what we didnt already know...we knew their stance.....but its still a duck
Ward isn't a draw. He doesn't bring in the cash. Why can't you understand this? The reason he doesn't draw is his own fault too. He's been far too inactive to have built a fan base. That's all on him. He's had the red carpet rolled out for him from day one and he's doesn't his level best to ruin his own career with the BS decisions. I mean look at what Froch - a guy he schooled - did following on from the super 6.
keep making the excuses fellas chance to pit an a level top p4p fighter in ward...against what we think is an a level top p4p guy in ggg.....and you guys are telling me its not big enough....what a joke like ive said...you guys have built ggg into some savior of the sport who will take on any challenge and fight anyone....when in reality hes all about money and risk/reward just like the rest......and this blatant duck is proof i wil laugh and be sad for him at the same time if floyd fights the canelo/cotto winner
Like I said earlier so it's just about the money? I wouldn't have a problem with that if GGG had proven himself against someone elite like Ward. Just like I don't have a problem with Kovalev who beat Hopkins and is not fighting Stevenson right now. You don't see me saying why isn't he fighting Stevenson, because he's earned the right to get some easy paydays because of who he's fought. GGG hasn't earned that right he's unproven against the elite.
Funny because you don't hear Loma fans saying Rigo isn't a big enough draw to make that fight happen do you?:deal
No but if Rigo said I don't want to move up to fight Lomachenko for peanuts, then I'd respect that choice, same as here.
His stance is known for those who've been following what GGG's team said but they've not really come out before and said everything in one piece, it's been bits and pieces.
