    Ward isn't light years more talented than Golovkin, that's beyond a silly statement. Is Kovalev light years ahead of Ward? The guy you'd pick to win against him?

    You could say they don't want to lose their momentum by risking it against Ward, that'd be an acceptable statement. But I think it's in the end risk/reward and Ward doesn't pay off, that's the bottom line.

    Also, Ward and Cotto comparisons are totally fallacious, Cotto is keeping the lineal title away from Golovkin and is preventing the fight between the current two best middleweights happening, that's why people are bashing Cotto.

    Ward doesn't even fight in GGG's division, that was a REALLY poor post.

    Nope, but going after Froch/Chavez at 68 but going for the WBA champion (Ward) at 164 is disgraceful and I'm glad most people can see through this. :yep

    With this kind of thinking we shouldnt even having rankings anymore.

    Its no longer about how good you are or who you beat but just how popular you are. Then whats the point. The top 10 most popular guys in the sport should just fight each other and everyone else should just retire. New p4p top 5:

    Floyd
    Chavez Jr
    Cotto
    Canelo
    Amir Khan

    Its a miracle that the best guy is also the most popular, if not then this list would be 100% **** instead of 90%.

    Ward isn't happening. He had his day... He can't get a meaningful fight! What don't you people understand...

    So what if he has a better resume, so does Hopkins! They are irrelevant to Golovkin at this point in his career as his team as just set out... He is focused on MW! It's that simple. They have decided on a path & are pursuing it..

    Omg. Golovkin does care about his ranking, but that starts with being the undisputed champion first. Isn't that a good thing? And regarding popularity, that's an important thing for Golovkin because being a star is how he'll get people in the ring with him.

    But Golovkin is going to fight the best guys (he's TRYING). After he unifies, then he'll go up to Ward AT 168 if Ward is willing to make some concessions (because Golovkin will be even a bigger star by then). If Ward goes to LHW by then or refuses to make reasonable concessions (like purse, place), then that's not Golovkin's fault.

    Was champ at 168, was ranked #2 p4p.
    Now, not ranked anywhere.
    It's now that Ward is irrelevant.
    What he was is good for nostalgia.
    For today's aspect he's starting over.
    You'll need to embrace the facts if you
    want to stay relevant yourself as a
    poster here.
