Team Klitschko: 50-50 Deal on The Table For David Haye

Klit keeps his German money, Haye keeps his UK PPV money, let's fight.

 

Let Klitschko keep 100% of international money and Haye UK money, deal?

Haye is THE MAN! - but only in the UK...

 

Haye has already turned this exact deal down....he SHOULD accept it, it's MORE THAN FAIR...but I'm fairly certain he won't. He'll come up with some excuse.

 

No one knows who the Klits are in the UK. I don't know why the Klits don't just call Haye's bluff & accept that offer anyway, it's penny pinching. Then again, Haye should accept the 50-50 of the entire pot.

 

Don't want this garbage fight. No-one wants to see it.

 

800,000 PPV buys vs Valuev would suggest otherwise.

 

Haye vs Valuev did more than 800k ppv buys for Sky Sports and the ruiz fight did 600k, basically Haye is making more money fighting bums because he keeps most, if not all the ppv money. Such fraudulent trickery from these Klits.

 

What do you guys make of the theory that Haye is fighting out his Sauerland options against ... ermm ... "less-worthy challengers" and will only take on the Klits when he's free of those obligations?

I don't have enough information to form a judgement on it.

 

Haye's using the Mayweather draw angle. But he has a valid point only because the UK has PPV while Germany doesn't. But why should champions give up the bigger purse when 50/50 is more than fair enough of a unification fight? The other problem I believe is that Klits can't split their German TV contract money. So I think the reality of the situation was for the UK PPV money to be split 50/50 while Vitali or Wlad keep all of their German TV money. I could be wrong, but that's what the Haye camp seems to be suggesting.

 

He should give Hide his rematch.

That would give Haye substantially more than 50/50, since the Klits get a flat fee from German TV no matter who they fight. Unless you're also insinuating that the Klits should get 100% of the gate too, in which case it's a fair deal. Basically, the deal you're proposing offers the Klitschkos no upside at all over fighting Derek Chisora or Shannon Briggs. Why should they make less money for facing a more popular fighter when they're still the primary draws?

90% of the gate will come because the Klitschkos and not because of Haye. The UK PPVs presumably will be much higher because Haye is fighting Klitschko as opposed to someone like Audley Harrison. 50/50 seems fair on both fronts.

IMO, Haye's being piggy. And you know what they say about greedy pigs - they get slaughtered.

Here's an alternative that gives Haye some more upside I guess but isn't quite as unfair: Klitschkos get 100% of German TV (which is the same no matter what), Haye gets 100% of whatever he gets from UK PPV for the Audley fight, and then whatever is on top of that is split 50/50. Klitschkos get 100% of whatever they usually get for a live gate, and whatever they make on top of that gets split 50/50.

 

Because nobody knows who Klitschko is here and most don't know who Haye is. No British people will pay to see Vitali and no German will pay to see Haye. It's just much simpler this way.
