These "Canelo vs. Kovalev" talks are just BS at this point. Kovalev is going to fight Yarde in September. Yarde's part of the purse is already in an escrow account. So, Kovalev can’t just walk away from that fight anymore.
Try 167.75 with a heavy fine for missing weight and then because it's Canelo, there will sure to be a crippling rehydration clause.
I don't see this fight coming off, especially at 175, but the escrow money is probably not a factor. The kind of money a Canelo fight would bring is surely more than whatever Kov would make against.
i think they are directing interest towards that fight, while watching kovalev very closely in his next fight, for a possible may date next year. if kova is ripe enough.
its crazy how one fight can make all that sweat and pain all worth it. your family is instantly set financially, and you can do whatever you want to do. thats why i dont buck too much when the money man gets different treatment, its his show, but you get the chance to make it your show, in the ring. if your name can draw a crowd like he can, then fight whoever you want, if it cant, its his show.
