    No surprise really, Matchroom may be ambitious but they're a small time operation. Maybe they could offer Presscott that re-match.......

    Maidana would eventually mow McCloskey down after a pretty even first 6 rounds imo. Judging by the prescott fight. Maidana = Prescott Mark 2? Maybe this saves him getting a beating...

    its hardly suprising, if mccloskey actually beats anyone of note then he may stand a better chance but he's going to struggle to get any top opponent now.

    The point im making is Khan did a deal with Mcloskey but it took a bit of sorting out due to Money.

    If Khan will box Mcloskey for X amount then you would think Maidana can seen as Khan is the champ!

    That wasn't a McCloskey promotion though was it. The money was coming from Khan who then gave a cut to McCloskey. Hear you need big money in the first place to pay Maidana's big cut, the money simply isn't there because McCloskey isn't Khan.

    could it not be done from maidanas side? then they can pay mCcloskey the pennies he deserves.

    Its a fight i'd watch, the irish would watch it too. I'm not sure what kind of fanbase maidana has but it has to be pretty decent.

    Of course Hearn and Matchroom have the money but lets face it. McCloskey's always gonna fall short on the 'World Stage'. Hell he fell short enough against Prescott FFS.

    They aren't gonna splash out over the odds to secure him a fight in which he's gonna get beat. If this was Brook they probably would but unfortunately McCloskey isn't quite World Class. And Hearn knows this

    McCloskey will be picked apart by Maidana and by Khan in a rematch and by Prescott in a rematch.

    Face it Irish fans, he really isn't as good as you think he is.

    I said this months ago. Maidana is a HBO fighter. Why would Hearn spend £300k to see his man get beaten up.
