At 33 he has not one HOF or Elite fighter under his belt. So why should Floyd, who fought his way to the top of the sport. Give a guy who's done nothing, in the sport a shot?

Alvarez - better than any GGG opponent, by far
Maidana - matched only by Murray and Geale at best
Guerrero - matched only by Murray and Geale at best
Ortiz - matched only by Murray and Geale at best

...and that would be giving Murray and Geale the absolute most respect and highest opinion of their rating possible. Certainly wouldn't rank Murray and Geale at the time of those fights above all of Maidana, Guerrero, and Ortiz. But that's the best case scenario for the pro-Golovkin argument here.

Thread starter and opening post = load gun, aim at foot, pull trigger

He would absolutely 100% deserve a shot completely if his accomplishments were of equal merit at 147 (as he'd be like Brook with more fights against the Dan/Gavin sort of opponent caliber and Brook is the best fight at WW for Floyd). But his achievements are not at 147. And as obviously stated, it isn't the sort of superfight that would line Floyds' pockets enough to compromise his fighting weight (like Oscar, Cotto, and Alvarez were).

I feel where your coming. So GGG and his promoter need to do something about getting him elite opponents. That's if they want his fan base to grow. I think GGG should be calling out Ward right now. Ward has ring rust, and even though GGG would have to move up, he's not shaking off any rust. Taking Ward would be great for his resume.

Fighting Golovkin wouldn't make any sense to Mayweather. Risk versus reward and all of that. Can't see it happening, no matter what Golovkin and his team say/do.
