Firstly, none of the Oquendo team is gay. Just to clarify. Maybe James has issues himself with that so he may need to dig a bit deeper and resolve them. As far as Fres being scared and running. I don’t understand why people always say that. Firstly, if Fres was scared, he would quit boxing. Period. When James’ sits on the ropes and ducks, and weaves and bends he is trying to AVOID GETTING HIT. This is the purpose of boxing. He is scared to get hit, not slick. Fres took the Toney fight on a week notice, James was “supposedly” training for weeks. Fres also wound up fighting Holyfield with strep throat and 102 fever (I have attached the medical records (2 Dr.s) from UCLA medical center) instead of the legitimate excuse of following doctors orders and getting bed rest and not fighting. Brewster and Thomson did NOT fight with less threatening illnesses. Fres fought David Tua and took shots that had knocked out world champions and legit contenders in under a minute. Fres never even went down. Does this sound like a man who is scared? Fres is a boxer who moves and dances and jabs and tries to hit the other guy more than he gets hit. I also like how James “Fatburger” Toney, instead of being a man, says Ill leave Big Daddy Dan aka Dan "Fatso” Goossen make the decision for him. Guess what Fatburger? He did. When I told him we would fight James for FREE or give him our purse if we did not KO James, he would not do it because he thought James couldn’t beat a healthy trained Fres and that the “fans” would not want to see it. Even his own promoter is making excuses for him. Personally I thought it was a very good fight. I know the Klit/Rahman, Klit/Ibragamov, Klit/Peter and Holyfield/Valuev fights were edge of your seat, nail biting thrillers but we can’t all perform at that high standard. Furthermore, I checked out compubox numbers and Fres threw and I believe landed more punches than any other recorded boxer on Compubox (2008) except Joe Calzahe. More than Taylor/Lacy, Adamek/Cunningham, Delahoya/Pac and every heavyweight championship fight all year. If you look at Fres’ face, he does not have a mark on him. Look at James swollen face from being hit almost 100 more times than Fres. We have offered to pay James the same money Goossen paid us for this last fight. Our promoter Luis DeCubas and Arena Boxing USA did not have a problem with that. As far as James being in the gym, I did not knew they served Fatburgers there. James is a chicken so we have moved on. I won’t respond to the Peters being drugged part. Peters is another fat, lazy and spoiled boxer living large in Vegas. He is next on our list since James chickened out. Finally, addressing the Oquendo team running scared. The audacity of Fatburger to make statements of a former Olympian (Nate Jones) who gave his youth to box for his country and earn medal as well as a respectable professional career is troubling. He (James) made a fool of himself with his big fat mouth all week. When it came time to fight he got whooped. Nate Jones, Dino Spencer, Henry Oquendo and myself, Tom Tsatas will gladly meet Fatburger anywhere he wants and we will see what happens. We are not hard to find. He maybe a one-time best P4P fighter in the ring but lets see what he has outside it. Closing thoughts. According to JT everybody is blind. The fans, his supporters, Versus announcers, the writers and the online Toney fans who all thought he lost. Guess James is the only one who is right. We are all wrong. PS. I have attached the reports from 2 Dr.s in California including UCLA Medical Center to confirm my statements. Fres really was sick when he fought Holyfield not playing around. Sounds like he is really scared huh? James would be clutched in a corner, in a fetal position, eating fried chicken and talking to himself if he was in the same situation. You could find all the compubox stats on their website. This content is protected
Well lowblow, I saw that fight and it was terrible. So much for Team Oquendo saying it was a very good fight. And it wasn't Toney making that fight terrible, it was Oquendo running and clinching the whole evening. Team Oquendos philosophy on boxing is indeed 'AVOID GETTING HIT', and at all costs, and nothing else - just like they stated in that interview. Of course you should avoid getting hit, but this is still boxing not running/wrestling, and you should also try to hit your opponent. No wonder all of Oquendos fights are stinkers, when did this guy have a good fight against top competition last? And with his style of fighting there's no wonder it's hard to look good against him - well Toney still put on a disappointing performance. Bottom line, I had Toney up by 1 point, just like your friends. 114-113 Toney. Oquendo rightfully got deducted a point for repeatedly hitting behind the head, and that cost him the fight. What did Oquendo land besides some jabs and these rabbit punches? Not much at all. True, he was more active in the second half of the fight, but still didn't land many clean punches on Toney. Toney, on contrary, chased Oquendo the whole evening and landed more effective punches, he even hurt him in one round. F*ck Compubox and anyone who claims these stats are telling, you have to watch a fight in order to score it, not look at the Compubox numbers. Punches that land on the shoulders and arms don't count in my book, period. They do for Compubox. I know you score fights objectively, so I think we can safely say this fight could've gone either way, depending on how you score fights. There were some close rounds too. I know Toney said some crazy things in his interview, well he often does and there are no excuses for it. At least he's a classy friendly guy outside of boxing, believe it or not. Team Oquendos statements in that interview are a level below Toneys worst however, absolutely no class. Plus they're distorting some facts: they say they took the fight on short notice while Toney was preparing for weeks for Tony Thompson, well guess what Oquendo was preparing for a fight too. 'Fres is a boxer who moves and dances and jabs and tries to hit the other guy more than he gets hit' - bull****, do they think he's Muhammad Ali? Oquendo runs and holds - anti-boxing. 'James Toneys face was swollen' - crap. James Toneys face wasn't swollen, that is plain to see - his face looks always fat. Oquendo was sick against Holyfield, so what nobody forced him to fight, Toney fought on the flu too and gets **** for these performances (Tiberi, Peter II). Nobody cares. Excuses, all excuses. 'Toney would be clutched in a corner in a fetal position fighting Holyfield' - yeah right... Toney TKOed a fresher version of Holyfield, and he also fought when he was sick and stayed on his feet. Well, finally Team Oquendo says they would meet 'Fatburger' outside the ring to see what happens, all six of them, wow! - how courageous and classy of them... I understand Team Oquendo is desperate after that rematch, and maybe Oquendo deserves it, but that's not the way to go...
obviously copyright reasons, din tulling.. Just mark the text with your mouse and you can read it just fine.
Team Oquendo seems to be a full of low class idiots. Talk about twisting facts on your fighters favor. I hope JT doesn’t give him a rematch. It would be a total waste of time.
"No Rematch" His handlers can tell Oquendo to do this. 1. Go out and win an IBF or a WBC belt. 2. Get his ass in line, to kneel at the feet of King James and beg His Majesty for a rematch.
Who would want to sit and watch either of these guys fight again? Both are boring and irrelevant in the Heavyweight Divison.
ok then, sorry about the "clever" remark. No sleep tonight led to a grim morning. Then again, how does it help with copyright? Its still lifted from another website, and readable by any anything but human eyes.
Sure Oquendo is classless, but can you blame his team for trying to get a rematch? It's not like promoters and the public are knocking down Fres' door offering big money fights. The Toney thing is a possible shot, probably Oquendo's only real shot, at another payday and James is prone to respond to trash talk, so I can see where it's worth it to try and goad him into taking the fight. So far as Toney, I love the guy, he's probably one of the favorite fighters, but give it up already. He's just not interesting to watch anymore, almost a cartoon version of the great fighter he once was.
I hope TOney doesn't give him a rematch either. I hope Toney retires because he's a cheating, lazy loud mouth with no chance in this division.
I find it funny that Oquendo and his no name manager are still crying about the decision. Not to be so harsh or nothing but Oquendo is pretty much a bum in my book. He was a upper C level fighter in his prime but now he's a tomato can. The way he throws his jab is so amatuerish it's not even funny. And he he's always rabbit punching behind the head and it's the unskilled fighters who always do that. Like sam peter for example. Toney beat him clearly.
