I'll tell you what. Here's what would be fair. The tests are administered by the USADA. Team Mayweather should ask them if Pac's scheduling requests will interfere with the integrity of the test. If the answer is no, then they should comply with Pac's wishes. And if Pac refuses to have blood drawn immediately after the fight(as team Pac claims they are willing to do), then he should be forced to pay a $30 million penalty. If the USADA says that Pac's scheduling requests inerfere with the intergrity of the test, then team Mayweather should obviously not comply with Pacquiao's request. Sound fair?
I hate myself for doing this because I think you're a complete douchebag, but I have to agree 100 percent.
Or maybe Pacquiao should demand that the Filipino athletic commission conduct some random blood and urine drug testing on both athletes. "To make sure that things are fought on fair ground" Its total bull****. At first, I thought Pac should compromise and agree to a post-fight test so that the fight can move forward. Now I think Pac should give Floyd the middle finger and tell him "If you want to cancel the fight, go ahead"
Manny grew up dirt poor, fought men when he was still a boy, and is the best prize fighter in the world in the eyes of many. He walks to the ring like he's going to a picnic. Unless he can prove a phobia of needles, I have a really hard time believing a two minute blood screening is going to "affect his psyche". I believe the testing is gamesmanship by the Mayweathers, but Manny shouldn't help them raise doubts. Take the damned tests, prove they are full of sh*t.
And what does that have to do with anything here? Yes, he would take the test because he's 100% drug free and it would not affect his performance anyway. The same would apply to Pac, I would think. I don't think you understand, I'm a Pacquiao fan and want him to win this fight.
See, this line of thinking sucks. So, the guy accomplishes something great, and immediately, there needs to be some cloud of doubt hanging over his head. Why? He has abided by all of pro boxing's drug testing standards. Why should he be singled out and given more rigorous testing? The current standards were acceptable to Cotto, why aren't they for Mayweather? Again, show me one shred proof that Manny is using PED's and I'll agree that he needs to be randomly tested. But, none of you have that proof, you just want him tested because he's good. atsch
Post fight test have been agreed upon. Only problem sounds like that the demands from Pacquaio's camp is that they are not willing to do it a week before the fight.
The drugs tests are already being administered by the Nevada State Athletic Commission as is the standard in all their fights, why would the USDA get involved? This is a case where much like the Filipino athletic commission, the USDA has no business being involved because their is already a governing body that administers drug tests.
No. Here's what's fair: Pac and Mayweather adhere to pro boxing's current testing standards. What reason do we have for submitting either of them to USADA performed tests?
:rofl That's pretty much exactly it I don't see anybody up in arms about the 1000's of other fighters...? They're not as good right, we shouldn't doubt them.
The way the whole drug testing came about is harsh on Pacquiao. But, when Mayweather Sr made the claims that Pacquiao may be using some illegal substances, the rumour didn't go away. If everyone just laughed at Mayweather Sr (i'm aware the majority did) then Mayweather's demands would have been too extreme. However, from what ive heard there have been a number of boxers (i'm not sure if it is only Malignaggi who has openly stated Pacquiao may be using illegal substances or not) who have made public there suspicions concerning Pacquiao. Mayweather's demands are very much legitimate in my opinion, that is of course after another athlete has also voiced there opinion on the matter. Ive honestly been saying for a while that drug testing in boxing is very lax compared to other sports. Like I said, the way the whole thing came about is harsh, but if it has a silver lining then hopefully it will lead to the rules in boxing conerning drug testing being changed. Possibly random drug tests for all boxers, all year round. Pacquiao has to agree to the demands because his reputation is on the line. I don't think he is or has ever used illegal substances, if taking the test results in him proving people wrong then I don't see why he doesnt agree. If he refuses, it will just add fuel to the fire, everyone will be suspicious and possibly discredit some of his achievements. Also, if this bout doesnt happen because Pacquiao refuses, do you think any other boxer will give him a chance? and if they do, do you think they will demand the same drug testing? The people who say Pacquiao has agreed to the testing but not the date and time before the bout. The reason it was said the blood test is to be given 30 days before the bout is because IF Pacquiao is going to be taking an illegal substance during his training camp, it would possibly show up on the test. Saying Pacquiao will agree to it but only before he starts his training camp only adds suspicions towards Pacquiao that he is actually using illegal substances.
Hell, B-Hop is like 100 years old and still at the top of his game, why aren't these clowns asking him to subject to USADA testing?
