why are we still talking about this. fights over, it happened it stunk but we got a clear winner. sure we can talk about what COULD HAVE BEEN but both fighters share the blame for it not happening then. when they were both ready to make it happen we got our fight and for that im greatful (mainly because i was hoping that would be the end of the debate... pretty silly on my part)
They claimed if Floyd fought Pac and won they'd give him his props, no excuses, all or nothing. As you can see they are as full of it as #48, the hate is real!
5 years before. http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=200198 seems like IV Fluid was already roiding when he was going around telling everybody he was going to clean up the sport.
Even then fluid IVIayweather is acting obvious. Obvious cheat is a cheat. Floyd dirty hypocritical pond scum
I still can't believe people still blame one camp over the other. I don't really think either camp was in a hurry to fight the other because both were in a good place financially and suffering a loss would be too much of a risk. Both camps fronted like they wanted the fight but in reality they were really hesitant to take it so when they could find a reason not to pursue the fight (e.g. drug testing, cut off date etc) they pounced on it and blamed the other. I do feel Manny wanted the fight, but unfortunately, Arum calls the shots and it was a business decision to milk Manny for all his worth before he cashes out. Floyd on the other hand calls the shots and his career has been built upon one simple thing, his zero. If he loses that, he loses his claim to greatness. It's painfully obvious that Floyd being the good businessman he is, was all about making money and he made it quite clear his main motivation was to make money. If you're in that state of mind, you would position yourself to maximize profit with the least amount of risk that's why he never wanted to fight Manny when he was at his peak because he knew the odds would be in his favor if he waited a few years for when he was on his decline. Floyd said it himself when the contract to fight Manny was signed, he said the reason the fight was going to take place was because of him. It implies that he didn't want the fight during the other times they were negotiating because if he really did, it would have been done. Both camps made several millions by not fighting each other and they cashed out big when they did.
How does Floyd not want the fight? Is he psychic, how would he know #48's team would freak out over advanced drug testing! If OST is an excuse to not fight #48 then why has every other opponent accepted the same testing and signed the contract? If OST is a way for Floyd to get out of fighting then it hasn't worked very well!
How sure are you the fight would have been made if Manny accepted the testing? I'm not saying Manny isn't to blame for not accepting the test but Floyd has also been known to keep insisting on more whenever Mannys camp agrees to a demand. First, it was drug testing, then cut off date, then purse split, then it was Arum, next Manny had to leave Arum, afterwards, Manny had to sign on with TMT, then he had to have a few fights under TMT... hmmm sounds like Floyd was really eager to fight Manny if you ask me. :think
Floyd agreed to all those issues, he even gave Manny a 14 day cut off for testing. It's team Salt Water that kept moving the goal post, kept complaining about dates, venue, cut offs, etc...
I think you need to recheck your facts and timeline. Last time I checked, Manny wasn't the one who said he had to leave Arum, sign with TMT and fight under TMT. That was Floyd wasn't it? And you still say Manny was the one moving the goal posts?
