Dela Hoya wasn't washed up or weight drained after all. All the under ratings of Pac, please stop! He is the real deal! Pacman is just that good. I've been saying all along, Pacman's power is under rated. Prior to this fight, he used 95% of straights, not really going for the knockouts per se. I do not consider straight punches to be knockout attempts yet he still managed to ko foes with straights from time to time. I've always asked, if this guy is so powerful with his straight, what more damage can he do with knockout punches ie hooks, uppercuts, overhead, etc? Well last night he answered my question! The scary thing is Pacman is significantly improving in each and every fight and with Roach as a trainer, it's like they know exactly what they're facing and got answers for all types of fighters. If he fights, Floyd, I'm sure they'll have answer for Floyd's running away tactics too. You can only runaway so far as the ring is guarded by ropes. I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd would jump out of the ring (joke.) For loyal JMM fans, I'm sorry, but if he is to fight Pac today, JMM would not have a chance. As much as you would like to see a 3rd battle against Pac, sorry but there are better opportunities in his future. If Pac fights JMM again, it does not benefit Pac. I would love to see Pac get another belt in one more division, that is Welter. Then he'll have the record for having the most weight division belts. After that, he can retire if he wants to, I'd be fully satisfied. For Ricky, you have nothing to be ashamed of, I loved your fights and your exciting brawling attacks. You fought a true elite fighter, that's one fight only most could everd dreamed of to be situated in. Now I must say, I'm getting sick with people discrediting Hatton's approach on the fight. I was on here everyday for at least 2 weeks reading the forums. Almost everyone was saying that Ricky's chances of winning was to overpower Pac just as he tried last night. Now that the fight is over, they are now criticizing Ricky on his approach which he did exactly what most people expected or wanted him to? I also agreed with this style of approach for him to have as an attack, but simply put, Ricky did not have a chance no matter what he did. If he was to box and play defense, he would've lasted a few more rounds but no way he'd win too. Kudos to Roach, it seems to me he has every answer against any fighter and Manny has the learning mentality and the skills to put it to use. I also wanna praise Moore, Ariza, Buboy and the rest of his training staff! Job well done guys. You guys did what almost seemed impossible (ko in 2 rounds.) I could speak more about that but in respect to Ricky, I better not. What a great team!
There are three guys right now you DO NOT want scheming on how to beat your ass. Freddie Roach. Nazim Richardson. John David Jackson.
John David Jackson gets no marks for Shane losing rather pathetically in the second match against Winky, nor for Nate campbell not being to lay off the grits and chicken before his match against Funeka.
I thought to myself last night, maybe Oscar gave a fake unofficial weigh in? Or told them to say he was 148 as an excuse? It's possible, he definitely didn't look smaller than Pacquiao on the night. The guy has a lot of power in the sport, especially with HBO.
Top post man. I agree with every word. Pacman WOULD crush JMM if they faced a 3rd time. He WAS brilliant against Osca, and the golden boy simply couldn't handle the harassment he was getting in the ring. Roach and Pacman are doing wonders. We're seeing ATG material right there. LOL. I almost fell off my chair at this line. I can almost imagine him vaulting the top rope and landing on Larry Merchant... ...and then claiming a low blow or something.
