This fight was being lined up when Arum put Cotto against Foreman.

Bradley, Margarito, and Williams would all be much moar interesting fights for emmanuel. Since when did beating Foreman mean you're ready for the second best fighter in the world, emmanuel, again? Even Clottey, who he beat prior Nov 14th, was a tougher fight.

Imagine the backlash if Mayweather fought Mosley again after the Mora fight if it goes ahead.

Shane's a bit differnt given his age.....I think that in itself causes the acceptence for that rematch to be extremly low. With Cotto there has been a lot of excuses regarding "Cotto's weight" and his fallout with his uncle ect.... Coupled with Cotto's recent performance in grabing anther title at a higher weight under the guidence of Manny Steward and you get a recipe for anther great fight.

Those are the same reasons why a fight with Floyd and Cotto would be well accepted.

A fight with Mayweather would be more accepted because (a) they haven't fought before and (b) people were calling for this fight a few years back and (c) it would make for an interesting match up stylistically.

Pacquiao recycling another fighter that he beat comfortably just because Cotto beat a C level fighter for a title makes for little interest to the neutral boxing fan.

The first fight, IMO, was not 'great'. It was 'interesting' for about 4 rounds. The last 5-6 rounds were filled with a 'warrior' no longer trying to win and in full blown survival mode.

No question a fight with Cotto and Floyd would be a better fight for the simple fact that they've never sqared off with each other and there was already hype for that fight before....but the fight with Cotto was exciting and drama filled even though it was one sided.

See, the thing about Manny is people will pay to see him fight based on his consistancy putting on exciting fights. People in general....neutral or not would still pay to see Manny and Cotto regardless of the first outcome.

Cotto could beat Manny....he's bigger and very strong. And although it's highly doubful that Miguel would beat Manny in a rematch the fact is Manny is a vunerable fighter. He's so active and he throws so much he could get caught. He just doesn't most of the time b/c he's so fast with great reflexes with a very awkward southpaw style. But KNOWING that Manny is that vunerable makes him that much more exciting to watch.

I don't think anyone feels Cotto has a better shot at beating Floyd than he does with Manny. Yet people would be more inclinded to want to see that all the same.

:lol:True...Not a great fight b/c it was so one sided but it was exciting. Cotto didn't really give up completely until the 10 round. I'd buy a rematch.....I'd rather see Floyd vs Cotto than the rematch with Manny but I'd buy either one as would most boxing fans.
