Team Parker's confidence

I just think they're not very good at promoting or even talking to people with cameras.

 

Well if he aint confident he in the wrong game...

 

They are just trying to promote the fight even hearn admitted they talked there way into a better deal and upped public demand.

 

I think he knows he's in for a stern test to say the least but I don't think he'd step into the ring unless he genuinely thought he could win. His nerves are showing with his uncharacteristic trash talk, but don't mistake nerves for a lack of self belief. Plenty of fighters like Mike Tyson got nervous before fights but when they zoned in they used that to their advantage. We all know Cus D'mato's quote regarding fear being a flame.

If anything I'd be more concerned if he was overly confident. That could be AJ's biggest issue, over confidence breeds complacency, that was Lewis' biggest flaw.

 

Yeah I think Joe communicates better in interviews than Higgins does and thats because Joe has had more practice where as Higgins just started appearing on TV screens in the last couple of years.

I thought Team Parker would've stopped their verbal jousts after the fight was secured. Maybe the king of steroids comment was a retaliation towards Joshuas king of pies and that could also be seen as an example of Joes not being too good behind the cameras and just said whatever without thinking.

Team Parker is confident, Im sure of it. Im just not sure of all this noise they're making as it is out of character.

 

You don't lowball the **** out of your own purse as a relatively unestablished champ without a big fight if you aren't confident. Unless you're a stone cold idiot.

 

Of course Joseph Parker is confident. Why wouldn't he be ?
He's a young undefeated heavyweight.
Anthony Joshua is a good fighter but he's just another fighter too. He's been impressive generally but he has shown weaknesses too.

AJ might be the best heavyweight out there currently but I'm not buying into the hype that makes him an invincible machine. He has glaring weaknesses.

Any decent young heavyweight fighter should be confident.

 

Of course he knows he's up against it, but he does have a chance and he knows it.
If he really favors himself in this fight and thinks he's the better fighter, then he doesn't have much hope.
There has to be some confidence, but no delusions or he's going to get pasted. Being afraid like Spinks against Tyson, wouldn't help in his advantage either of course. But he has to know what his limitations are and where his chances lie... overconfidence would probably end badly for him.

 

Why wouldnt he be confident? Undefeated WBO champ and has a good range of fighters on his CV.

IMO they are trash talking because AJ cant. Look at how Whyte got under his skin. They want that AJ to come flying at them because it was a bit wild and erratic at times.

I think Fury would mentally destroy Joshua before the fight

I honestly believe he’s one of the worst heavyweight champions of all time. Up there with Charles Martin.

 

The fact he says he wont shake his hand shows he alreasy is getting to him imo.
Joshua is a sensiive sole and I think the glass jaw/roids con artist anglw will really hit him deep.

 

He did not exactly shake hands with Dominic Breazeale did he and we saw how that went!
