He is blatantly omitting one important fact.

Goosen and made it clear to Arum before they signed the Martinez fight that if they can't get the Pav-Williams fight done on December 5th, then they would either be fighting for 50/50, or they could just **** off.

To imply that Paul had a tough fight, and decided he didn't want Pav anymore is being deceptive.

    Other than that, nice read.

I get bored reading the stories about what one camp says versus another when a fight doesn't come off.

Nothing against the thread starter, but ultimately no matter how much bitching we hear and debate on these forums, the fans lose out.

I'm just happy to be seeing Pavlik fight somebody other than a janitor or taxi driver.

I honestly dont see him getting passed Martinez, the man straight up struggles against good technique and movement, if you're not infront of him to be hit, he's all at sea and starts feeling soprry for himself, ala against Bernard Hopkins.

Its gotta be Williams-Martinez II for me.

This is excellent to hear. It looks like Team Pavlik are taking this one really seriously, and have a lot of respect for Martinez as an opponent. Most importantly of all, they seem to have learned from the mistakes of the Hopkins fight and aren't under-estimating the threat posed by somebody with speed and movement. Looks like they've got conditioning started early and are looking to shake off rust and get KP in top condition for this one. Should be a great fight!

Also, OP needs to change font. That's pretty offensive to the eyes...

you say "ala bernard hopkins" like there is a list behind that you could rattle off. but there isnt a list. its happened once under less than ideal circumstances against a top 5 p4p lhw living legend

since pavlik has ko'd every mw he's ever fought, you have no frame of reference to suggest that smaller weaker yet quicker opponent will be able to do anything remotely similar. there is no one at 154-160 who is "ala bernard hopkins." it trivializes just how good bernard is in general and how good he was on that night specifically.

the truth is that kelly pavlik was being overrated before hopkins and is now seriously underrated. sergio was seriously underrated before the williams fight and is now being overrated. if you assume the truth is somewhere in the middle...its pav pressuring the smaller weaker opponent into a later round ko.

sorry for the rant...as to the thread topic

would love to see it one day, hope it comes off. both sides have a responsibility to their respective camps to not only make the fight but make it worthwhile and both sides have their own view of what is worthwhile. it happens
