    – The court in new York sided with Russian boxer Alexander Povetkin in his dispute with American Deontay Wilder, has reported in his Twitter the President of the promotion company “World of Boxing” Andrey Ryabinsky.

    “4.3 million dollars go to us,” he said.

    Trial in the case the official Challenger for the title of world champion under version WBA Povetkin concerned the canceled bout against Wilder, who was to be held in may 2016, but was canceled, as the doping sample Russians was forbidden Meldonium. Lawyers for the American boxer in June 2016, has filed a lawsuit against Povetkin, whose team, in turn, went to court with a counterclaim.

    The Federal district court for the southern district of new York denied the Wilder all the requirements.

    “On the night of April 20, 2018 in Moscow became aware of the fact that the court in the United States decided in the case of Povetkin (…) the side of the Wilder court rejected all requirements, and side – Povetkin was awarded 4.3 million dollars, cash, frozen in the escrow account after canceled in may 2016, the fight between Povetkin-Wilder”, – stated in the message.

    It is noted that the decision can be appealed within 30 days. However, Povetkin’s lawyers have filed a request of the escrow agent on the refund.

    In August 2016, the WBC announced that Alexander Povetkin will continue to compete under the auspices of the WBC. In its doping sample revealed a low content of Meldonium, and the Council came to the conclusion that the boxer did not take a prohibited drug after January 1, 2016.

    Wow I thought this had been resolved in Wilder's favour before, didn't know they were countering with another lawsuit. I assumed all the cash Wilder had suddenly been flashing had been from this payout.

    Hopefully this puts pressure on Wilder to make the Joshua fight. That $12.5 mill offer I bet now looks far more appealing.

    Wilder was terrified of Povetkin after he blew out Perez in seconds and never wanted to fight him. That Meldonium bs was all he needed to run for the hills and now his ass is fragged in court. Sweet.

    Although I can understand Povetkin/World of Boxing won the case due to how things went at the time, I didn't really expect that the court would actually rule in their favor.

    As I have been posting since Povetkin was cheated, VADA cleared Povetkin, but Haymon's WBC refused to allow Povetkin to knock Wilder out. The fight was cancelled. Wilder begged the WBC to not allow the fight BEFORE VADA's mistake! Wilder was on his way home before any decision was even made! Povetkin was declared not guilty, and it was found that he did not take meldonium after its official prohibition that started January 1, 2016.

    Why was Povetkin not allowed to fight Wilder? Why?! The answer is clear, Wilder was afraid of getting knocked out, so HAYMON BOXING INSURANCE saved him....................This fight should be forced on Wilder now................. one more time...........................Povetkin was declared not guilty, and it was found that he did not take meldonium after its official prohibition that started January 1, 2016.

    Some on here kept saying that Povetkin was a cheat, they lied about him and so did Wilder, they believed Wilder but lied about Povetkin..................it's a shame Povetkin was cheated!

    The money was put in escrow for the 2016 fight, assumedly by the promoter putting on the fight. That promoter was Poventkin's dodgy AF promoter. So essentially, all he 'won' was his own money back. I doubt wilder has lost a penny here and anyone that thinks they'll file any kind of defamation case at this point is a nutter.

    Povetkin was declared not guilty, and it was found that he did not take meldonium after its official prohibition that started January 1, 2016. That is very important and it proves my point!
