Points of contention include the following issues: 1. Judge Takeshi Shimakawa improperly kept a running score during the fight, which is prohibited by the WBA, as well as the only way he could have corrected his scorecard after the scores were announced (Shimakawas scoring changed from 114-113 in favor of Ruiz to 114-113 for Valuev. 2. Ruiz was not credited with a legitimate knockdown when he floored Valuev in the second round. Ruiz blasted Valuev with punches, knocking The Giant into the ropes, but the referee incorrectly ruled a slip when Valuevs knee hit the canvas after he careened off of the ropes. Scoring that round would have been different, in Ruiz favor, if it was ruled a knockdown. 3. Judge Antonio Requena scored two rounds even, despite WBA instructions that there should be no even rounds scored in championship bouts. Ruiz would have been declared the winner if the two even rounds had been awarded to Ruiz in addition to the aforementioned second round scoring snafu being sorted out. 4. Most importantly, throughout the fight Valuevs cornermen received judges scoring results as the rounds went on, something that happens regularly only in Germany, yet clearly constitutes major corruption in boxing. I can confirm point 4, this is very common in German. I am glad we probably got rid of Ruiz, but his team made some good points why this fight should be reviewed. Especially, point 1 is very shocking. It is pretty impossible to win a close fight in Germany but I doubt that an investigation wil lead to a conclusive result as the Sauerland mafia is too fk clever to get caught.Thougts?
I bet Ruiz also filed a protest when he lost to Tua. There was no close fight. Valuev won clearly and deservedly so. Ruiz is just making a fuss because currently you just have to scream robbery when you lost a fight in Germany and anyone agrees without having seen the fight. "Legitimate knockdown" WTF is he smoking?
i gotta feelin ruiz will win, just because, he haunts the hw division and has gotta be the luckiest ******* to hold a title, he always finds a loophole or gets a gift, the boxing world can't get rid of him and his horrible style, tua where are you?!
for point 1. The mistake happened because one of the judges wrote Valuev on the left, and Ruiz on the right, or vice versa, while the other 2 did the opposite. The judge did not correct his card after the fight.
How does he know for a fact that Valuev received the scores? This is pathetic and Ruiz needs to accept the fact that he lost and he was given his share of fights when he was WBA Champion. He held over 200 times in some of his fights he should have been DQed.
End of the day sit ruiz down to watch the tape of the fight, then he may realise in no way did he win that fight atsch
Ruiz also filed a protest because his wife wouldn't **** him on Friday. 1 - Ruiz pays the bills. He deserves a little loving 2 - Ruiz shaved the little bit of hair from just underneath his bottom lip that chaffs his wife's clit. It said in Maxim that this guaranteed him some. So what gives? 3 - Ruiz put the cat out, as instructed.
Mitch "Blood" Green ought to come out of retirement and shut up the Quietman for good. I'd vote to give him back the WBA as long as we can view footage of Stoney as the fight was given to Andre for the 2nd time in a row!
Oh my god. Sorry but everybody who knows at least a bit about boxing knows Valuev won. Yeah, German boxing is so corrupt blablabla ... what about Lewis-Holy I, Sturm-DLH and many many others ... but yeah German boxing is sooo corrupt.
Half of Ruiz' victories have been behind closed doors...appealing to the corrupt boxing officials to save his career again is no suprise.
5. The iced water provided was at -2oC as opposed to -5oC. 6. Valuev kept giving him mean looks. 7. The dog ate Ruiz's homework. 8. Valuev is a big meanie. 9. GIMME BACK MY TITLE WAAAAAAAAAHHH 10. Germany sucks.
Maybe if Ruiz spent less time whining and more time working on his skills he might actually get somewhere.
