Yawn. Obviously there are some relevant points underneath the rest of the crap, but damn that's boring.
Nah, actually quite interesting. You just seem to be a tool. The fact that there is a monopoly on the ideas of what is good through pound for pound rankings, and a website that claims to be without bias is not boring unless your ****ing mindless.
Yeah, OK. Constant drivel from this 'Team Takeover' really exhilirates me, you've changed my mind. Rankings are opinions and yeah, some of the bigger MMA media sites may be overly influenced or under the pay roll of the UFC, but to call me "a tool" and "****ing mindless" just because I don't fall hook, line and sinker for all of their ramblings - or enjoy them in the slightest - is ridiculous, and proves you're just another one of their drones. Their valid points are drowned out a lot of the time because of their mindless agenda.
I'm a drone because I understand the gravity of an enterprise having what amounts to a strict monopoly on what is what in all of MMA? You are a tool because you understand the gravity of the situation, yet you dismiss it as something uninteresting. You miss half the point of the video, in that the video itself acknowledges the fact that having a UFC bias entails discrediting UFC fighters and their rightful places in the MMA scene. Maybe you should watch it again.. In order for me to be part of a mindless agenda, I'd have to buy into one or the other, either buy into Sherdog's rankings, or buy into an anti Sherdog agenda which discredits UFC fighters and boosts the credit of UFC rivals. I don't buy into either. What I find ****ing amazing is that you would claim I fit into some agenda by recognizing this.. Dude, did you even watch the vid? The idea of the vid, and what is a breakthrough is that the conversation was about an endeavor to have a ranking without bias, and recognizing the fact that there is a bias created by being pro or anti Sherdog/ pro or anti Zuffa.. What is clear is that there is a line in the sand. Sherdog clearly stands with Zuffa. Bloodstain Lane clearly stands as an opponent with a strong bias against some UFC fighters to include guys like Bones Jones.. What about recognizing this makes a person a zombie? Its just seeing things for what they are. Get a brain moran! This content is protected
Didn't watch it all, skipped through and caught a few bits. It would have been a waste of fourteen minutes of my life - I've heard all of his schtick already...it's old. I may have been quick to assume you were a Team Takeover drone, but when did I say I thought the whole topic was uninteresting? THOSE GUYS are uninteresting, and I don't want to give them my time or my hits by humouring it tbh. Gotta have a pretty mundane life to get so hyped about some internet MMA media outlets rankings...
I didn't watch/listen to the video, I guess it's because everytime Snakerattle posts it's just to bash on the UFC directly or in more subtle fashion. I don't know if it was the case this time and I never will.
How can you weigh in on something you didn't listen to? If you listen to it, you will hear that there is admission in both camps. Pro and anti zuffa bias which is in the end no good. There is talk about trying to come up with something that attempts real non bias. (this is impossible, the the endeavor is needed) Sherdog claims non bias, but we know they are pro Zuffa. I don't think Teamtakeover/ Snakerattle/ bloodstain ever claim non bias.. They are clearly anti zuffa, Sherdog hating group. The point is admitting there is a bias so that we can come to some sort of fair fighter ranking. Sherdog's popularity and pro Zuffa bias creates and adds to the monopoly on what is what in MMA. Casuals, and people who convert to serious fans often start at Sherdog. Rather simple concept, easy problem to recognize. This isn't one group arguing they are right, and another group is wrong. This is a step in the right direction, admission of bias on both sides, and the realization that what would be good for MMA would be an honest attempt at non bias fighter ranking. Is that so bad? Is this bad logic? I don't think so.
Hey man, my apologies for coming off so aggressive. These boards tend to be that way. I've been a combat sport fan since I was around 5 years old, first love was boxing. I remember seeing an advertisement for UFC 5, and have been a fan of MMA ever since.. I followed MMA when I traveled to Japan and Pride was in its hayday.. I take concepts and ideas very seriously, because I'm a concepts and idea type of guy. Again, apologies for coming off harsh. I just think the sort of thinking is a good first step at recognizing some of the monopolies which in the end deprive us as fans.
