From "Team Fenech fitness and health" on Facebook:

"Let us start by stating Joseph Parker and his Camp..Are at no fault and we are not laying any blame...But saturdays fight ended in what we believe was an unintentional foul..The punch that landed at impact was on the top of Bowie Tupou head..Many people have stated that the punch was soft and question the effect..But the reason why in boxing punching is illegal on top of the head is for that very reason..As we stated before we are not accusing the Joseph Parker of intentional fouling..However we would like to show the facts..Social media has been accusing Bowie of a whole range of things..Anybody that saw the first 30 seconds will know that Tupou came to fight..Look at the glove of Parker in the pic above and see where it landed..On the top of the back part of Bowie Tupous head..Bowie trained hard for this fight and came to win..We believe the ending was not deliberate but certainly controversial..In boxing this is called an unintentional foul..Temple shots are legal..But top of the head is not.."

    Thoughts? :think

Haters of whom? Hate isn't relevant here. Both guys are pretty straight up and worked hard for the fight.

There is a possibility it's a foul... is hard to call from the available footage imho, for the same reasons I can't blame people for thinking it could be a dive - the reason it's clear it isn't is the way Tupou is instantly out when the hit lands.

I think only bad can come of it proving to be a foul as that was clearly the end of the fight no matter what - Parker had the gap and was throwing, they were going to land and were going to KO Bowie... if it turns out due to essentially bad luck it's a foul then the fight gets discredited even though it was a inch or so away from being a legal KO. If it somehow gets called a foul there is no point in a rematch, it's nothing to do with hate - everyone saw Parker manage the most aggression Tupou could throw at him and land heavy blows in the first minute. The writing is on the wall.

    Might be, hard to see.
But if we would rematch or overturn every KO win that is or might be a foul, boxing would be a very dull sport.
It is clear Tupou can't take Parker's punch when it lands, and no doubt who's the better of the two. Let it go... let it go!

come on.. that was a brutal hit on the right template, they should accept it and don't act like Öner/Solis acted in the Vitali fight after a hit on the template...

They're just trying to defend Bowie's rep, and they might have a point. No way they want a rematch. JP smashed Pettaway when he was on his knees and nothing happened. It's boxing

The scoring area of the head is forward of a line which cuts through the middle of one ear across the middle of the top of the head and through the middle of the other ear so roughly half of the top of the head is in the legal scoring area. i'm not debating whether the punch was in the scoring area or not just that your belief that punching to the top of the head is is illegal is erroneous.

Fenech is dodgy as **** fancy the watch thief carrying on like this. He knew,Tupou knew they had no chance so took the easy (and possibly profitable way out). Poor attempt at deflection to throw suspicion off his fighter. Similar thing happened when he trained Tyson for his ill fated comeback.:patsch

Hahaha here we go. I mentioned a couple of days ago this would happen.

Unfortunately for Fenech, he is trying to protect the reputation of his fighter by throwing another under the bus. He would have a leg to stand on if:

A - The punch hadnt connected with the upper temple prior to deflecting to the top of his head.

B - If Tupou had not leaned into the punch

C - The ref (let alone Fenech or the ringside official) had cited the incident at the time

D - If Tupou hadn't charged around the ring like an uncoordinated bull. He was leaning forward for the duration of the round and it was bound to happen.

E - If Parker is to blame for an "accidental foul" then Tupou is just as much to blame. I was always told as a boxer, you are meant to keep your head up?

    Hard luck bud.

Who cares Tupou is mud and theres no doubt who the better boxer is. Onwards and upwards JP. Next he'll end Kali's career like he did Botha's and embarrass the old man.

If they want to protest the result facebook isn't the way you go about it.

Take your money and move on Tupou.
