The rematch will be in the US. Kessler cannot dictate terms to Ward, unless Ward loses to Froch. :deal
The money will be bigger in Denmark and surely you'd agree that it would be fair for the rematch to take place in Copenhagen right?
Kessler's team, Ward's team , both are taking a strategic path, it is understandable, Bute is a great menace whatever they may say about his opposition.i Am a fan of Bute and i think it's just regrettable the say "Bute is a great champion, we don't want to discredit him " and after they do exactly that; This atitude from Ward's team is not a shock, but VH is trying to bull****: - Showtime didn't make Kessler champion emeritus but WBC; - with Kessler fighting the for WBO he lost the WBC "champion emeritus" bull****; - Showtime signed Bute to fight the SuperSix winner a thing Froch already admitted; All in all even a fight with the loser of super6 would be great for Bute but now i am begining to root with all conviction for Froch to beat Ward; Ward - Froch, Bute - Johnson, Kessler - Stieglitz aren't done yet: Ward - Froch might need a rematch or (less likely) Johnson or/and Stieglitz might produce a surprise, we'll see what happens after the 5th of November
True...Styles makes fights.. bad match up style.. Bute in a fight with Johnson is a step in the right direction, something tells me Johnson is going to take Bute to Hell and back.. Will bute survive? only time will tell... No one is ducking Bute.. he just doesn't get a shot at the top guy in the Division without facing some strong opposition..
Wards win over Kessler was career defining, but not in the way Ward wanted it to be, since he got branded as a dirty fighter by large parts of the boxing world. A second win without the intentional full body weight headbutts, shoulder charge, holding and kidney punches would do Wards reputation well. He and his trainer are doing the right thing. I just doubt Ward can fight clean, though. But at least he should do better this time around.
Truth..:deal Ward is not going overseas.. Why.. He has all the belts.. Foolish of Kessler to conceed is Champion status in the first round of the Super 6 his team did not see Ward as a real Challenge... With possilbly the WBO, WBA, WBC belts on the line.. No way WARD is taking his 2 belts over to Denmark to fight Kessler.. Why? He already beat him, not much to gain there.. if he wants to change the perception of fans minds all he has to do is fight him, win and not Headbut.. It could be in MSG, or in Canada apart of a Bute Card.. Showtime can put it together...
Bute needs to prove himself? Because of course, Mr Ward deserved to be in the Super 6?? And instead, they want someone they'd already beaten to a pulp (they want to set the record straight?? :rofl) . Gimme a break... If Ward beats Froch (which is to be expected), the fight people want is Ward-Bute. Let's hope both sides can't find a way to avoid it.
If the fight was close, maybe. But the fight wasnt close. Kessler got his ass beat and shut out. It'd be like Margarito asking for a rematch with Pacquiao in Mexico.
This isn't my first prefernce for Ward, he already proved he is better than Kessler and since then Kessler's gotten older and Ward better, I don't really see a different outcome. Since their fight Kessler will have beaten Froch and Stieglitz for a belt(if he beats him) so he's positioned himself as a top super middleweight again so you can make a great case for him getting a rematch. But the fight that needs to be made is Bute against the Super 6 winner. This is a fight that has been building and one Showtime will be all over. That is absolutely the next fight that should happen. If Ward were to lose to Froch than I think a rematch with Kessler is a very good option. Actually, Bute should get the winner and Kessler the loser of the Super 6 and then possibly match or rematch the winners of those 2 fights.
Not a Bad idea.. I would like for Bute to fight a Super 6 opponent who was not an old live body.. Johnson is semi legit.. he has a lil left in the tank, it seems like he is in it for a payday.. since his Paydays at Light Heavy are done.. (Yes I know he is fighting Bute for less) So maybe he is motiviated.. I too would like to see Bute in there with a Froch, Kessler, Dirrell.. instead of Johnson.. but beggers can't be choosers.. lol So ill take Johnson...
Well that someone strong(Pavlik/Kessler) didn't felt like fighting him. You think that someone strong(Kessler) deserves the first chance at the S6 winner because he ducked him?
