If Bute ko's Johnson, something tells me they will really want to fight Kessler.

Ward doesnt need him. Beat Froch, fight Bute and Dirrell.

Then, he shouldn't have been invited in the super 6 since he had not proven himself before it began.

Kessler want the rematch more than Ward so the fight will be in USA again. Your logic means nothing if Ward can do what he wants.

BTW, Hunter is not well informed. He thinks Showtime is able to name Kessler Emeritus champion. :rofl

Anyway, Kessler is not the WBC emeritus champion anymore.

Ward could not draw even close to what Kessler could draw in Denmark. It made no sense the first fight was in California.

No thats not it.. Ward will fight the best of the best.. he is not ducking anyone..

R u Serious...? This excuse is the **** poorest... Bums always try to brin this Load of BS up.. Kessler got whooped.. next.. But Ward being Ward.. he wants to shut people up like you.. just to say he owned your fighter.. No excuses.. Whats real is he doesn't even have to... but him even considering fighting Kessler again should make you want to stop the excuses and the crying..:nono

No one is afraid of Bute.. Name one real opponent he beat.. Ward beat 2 legit opponents in the Super 6, Kessler and Abrahanm.. and hopefully Froch.. Bute has no answer to those 3 to match..Period.. So why would he give a guy fighting Cannon fodder a shot.. I don't care how many people came to watch him.. or what belt he has.. Fight someone first and become worth.. Johnson is a step in the right direction, if he KO's or UD Johnson at the same level or better than Froch then in my eyes he deserves a title shot.. DONT get me wrong I respect Bute as a Boxer, Nasty Combination punching.. easy top 3 body attack in the game right now.. maybe even #1.. Killer KO but he needs to step up his level of opponents.. I think that what Hunter is trying to say...that it..

Nah Ward would want to go in there and solve Bute.. something that hasent quite been done.. and Ward and Hunter have already seen holes in Bute's game.. they would love to try their luck at solving him..

Tell that to Kessler Promotor.. he got out done by Dan Goosen.. Sauderland was so confedent they had the 2 best figters in the tourny they conceded the home advantage the most rightfully deserved.. thinking their guys were just going to mow down the competition.. Now that the shoe is on the other foot.. Wards team is smart enough not to fight in Demark to be fair (as some posters say) Ha hahahah Funny.. Wards got the belt he dictates who, when and where... Next...:good

You are right about Saurland, but Ward can have every belt he wants, but what drives who, when, where is $$, and Kessler could fill a large football stadium in Denmark, while Ward fights in front of a half filled arena in oakland.

This is true.. but Ward is not a Money fighter.. he fights to be the best.. he is not chasing dollars.. if he was.. Denmark it is.. filled to the rafters.. Same for Bute.. He would fight Bute in Montreal or Quebec City.. but something tells me these fights would be in Vegas or MSG..

Also the Bay Area is a hot/cold type of Draw for boxing fans.. if they were able to get Robert Gurrerro, Nonito Donarie and Andre Ward all on one Card.. they could sell it as a PPV, have it at San Jose Arena, Oracle, or at an outdoor venue.. and make a killing.. maybe in the future..

If this transcript of the Virgil Hunter interview is correct I'd say his opinions are a little shaky on a few points:

    1) "Kessler was just as responsible for the head butts as Andre was." Then, how the hell didn't this happen in previous Kessler fights???

    2) "A lot of Kessler fans want to minimize Andre’s performance, saying that Kessler would have won the fight if there were not head butts or cuts". No they don't. They say Ward's dirty tactics played a role but Ward would probably have won that day anyway.

    3) "Bute should fight Froch, Dirrell,". NO!!!!!! Ward should fight Dirrell as was scheduled from the very beginning.

Besides, Ward should fight abroad. As a matter of fact he should fight in Kessler's backyard if he really wants to set the record straight with Kessler.

No, it is not. Have you ever been headbutted before, several times? You lose focus and rhythm. Now, Ward was and is the better fighter, and he won comfortably. However, Kessler would have had a better chance of winning, had he not been headhbutted. Therefore, if they fight each other again, Ward should cut that s*** out and just outbox Kessler, because he has the tools to do just that.

....and it was alright for Ward to fight Bika + Allan Green ? Did those guys deserve more of an immediate shot at Ward back then, than Bute after Johnson now ?

That Hunter comment smells like bull**** all over. It's called hyppocrisy at its best and you seem to fully endorse it.

First of all this was the original quote

Listen Ward is going to win the position battle.. He is going to take Real estate that the other fighter may or may not conceed easily.. Ward switches from Southpaw to conventional/orthodox often.. when doing that against an orthodox fighter sometimes headbuts will happen.. Yes there were some bad clashes in the Ward Kessler fight no doubt.. but for someone to say..

is mostly bull****.. yes the headbuts take a fighter off rythem, make them cautious about mixing it up.. I can empathize with that but to say Kessler had double vision is utter bull****.. Im not buying it and **** whoever is selling it.. making that type of mess up is poor.. YES Kessler would have had a better chance without the headbut but to say he was double vision is BS..

Bika and Green were in the tourny the tourny lined them up Ward had to fight them says the contract.. He had no say in the matter..although he chose Bika who is a tough customer with good fights against top quality opponents..
Please go find another tree to bark up with your hyppocrisy comment.. Hunters comment is logical..

If Bute does well against Johnson in my book he is worthy of a title shot against Ward... its about time he is fighting someone..

The Hadbutts has clearly bothered Kessler but not that much that he forgot boxing, Kessler just doesn't have the speed and sharpness he once had, he probably saw the punches but couldn't react to them.
I know you hope as a fan that Mikkel can win without the illegality committed in the first fight, but the true is Kessler has become slower on reaction , and not so accurate. This fight will always have the same outcome with the exception of his eye(vision) problem being the thing that affected the Dane's accuracy and reactions.
