Apparently just like in the Wlad fight there was a strange level of sponginess on the aprin of the ring and team Fury had to kick off about it on Saturday afternoon to try get it removed. Which after complaints did happen. Sounds like both Wlad and Wilder realised Fury needed to be slowed down to maximise landing clean on him so they tried cheating.
It favours a puncher like Wilder because he doesn’t plant his feet and bring the shot up through his hips and core as more refined boxers do. If the story’s true then it would certainly have the cumulative effect of draining Fury’s legs faster than would otherwise be the case.
