I agree with the flat fee, II'm not sure how Common it is for both sides to request rematch clauses. But no fight in 2019?

I don't know why there wouldn't be a rematch clause in a fight of this magnitude. and no way should he take a flat fee everyone gets ppv percentage

Wilder and his handlers are even more afraid now, since they've now seen Joshua KO Alexander Povetkin, a fighter Wilder fearfully avoided.

They're not saying "no fight" in 2019. They're saying it's up to Fast Eddie. Which it is.

The flat fee needs to go. A 50/50 split & perhaps the rematch clause could disappear as well (although Joshua will certainly want a rematch clause in his favour so presumably that's why Wilder's camp would want it to be reciprocal).

No mention of location which is encouraging. That means Wilder would be willing to fight in the UK.

I think the fight happens in April next year. It makes sense for it to.

Wow surely it suits wilder that the fight takes place sooner, where can find the quote? Cheers

With a 50/50 split and Joshua’s rematch clause removed it won’t.

No-one has a problem with Joshua having a rematch clause in his favour. The issue is Wilder wanting one that is reciprocal (meaning if he loses, he get a rematch).

I think that requirement could potentially be negotiated out if Wilder gets a big enough slice of the pie first time around.

Offer team Wilder less. Call their bluff. $5 million + $1 million per round.

In which case offer them nothing b/c the fight's not happening.

The Dillian Whyte rematch can be announced this week.

I understand that, but when it comes to the negotiations it really is all business, but it just happens to be about boxing.

As things stand, brand Joshua simply brings to much capital to the table, whereby terms will be set to favour him, as even uneven splits are still going to be mouthwatering for team Wilder. So, I’ll concede that they’ll move away from a flat fee, but 50/50? No chance. Not with the current landscape. Perhaps Wilder/Fury makes a killing, and that would change the dynamic of the negotiations. But as things stand it is essentially a small company, with a small net profit in team Wilder, wanting to do business with a huge company that has a massive net profit in team Joshua.

Big fights don't get done on a flat fee basis. We all saw this happen with Mayweather/Pacquiao. Hearn knows that, and thus any flat fee offer is in fact a non-offer.

Besides, Wilder has Fury to worry about — a fight he definitely can lose.

    No fight in 2019, lmao

    No fight unless rematch clause,
ie: we are the B side but we demand a rematch so if we loose the first match we can at least get more money in a rematch.
