    Article :

Wilder's manager, Jay Deas, says the fighter is not going to sit around an wait for his mandatory, which may take months to work out. The World Boxing Council is going to order Wilder and Povetkin to begin negotiations sometime in October.

"You have to realize that you can work on those things, but those things take six months to a year," Deas said to Alabama.com. "Those things take a while to make. We're not sitting around waiting until next June to fight just because it's Povetkin. If we can get September, we'll get September, and we're bringing it back to a level where these guys are on TV and they're fighting often.

Looks like he plans to stay busy ..

There isn't anything to wait on though. Povetkin is the Mandatory all the WBC has to do is issue the purse bid and Povetkin would be ready to go this Fall. This is Deas trying to deflect the Povetkin fight and make it sound like they are going to have to wait so they can handpick another joke of an opponent first.

Obviously that is what they want to happen but then what next? Then they will want another optional fight etc. they are trying to stall. We both know it doesn't take 6 months to a year to have a purse bid or come to terms for a Mandatory fight. That was a ridiculous statement by Deas.

    Wilder will not fight Povetkin.
Why is WBC waiting until Oct for a purse bid? They can schedule it NOW...funny how they announced purse bid for Stevenson-Kovalev right away...

WBC is trying to stall this fight until 2016 and then unification with Wlad will take precedent.

Yes. That shouldn't have anything to do with a Mandatory fight unless Wilder is going to drop the belt like Quillin did. If that is the case go ahead and do it instead of acting like you want another fight when in reality Povetkin is ready to go in the Fall.

Sure he will fight another can to make some more cash. They know Povetkin is dangerous for Wilder so they will try to avoid and delay that as long as possible.

6 months to a year? How do they negotiate?

It doesn't seem like he plans to stay busy, he plans on fighting Al Haymon specials and push his mandatory fight as far backward as humanly possible.

If Jennings took a tuneup that would be a decent fight for Deontay. He's not hard hitting but gave Wlad some competitive rounds. I doubt it will happen though.
