Basically this. Although I'm not sure if the 30-day period for open negotiations is standard, either for WBC or across the major sanctioning bodies, or if it can be longer. I also agree with Saintpat's subsequent post that with Povetkin having JUST been made the mandatory less than a month ago, the WBC-ordered timetable to begin negotiations this October does not seem so bad to me. If Wilder wants to squeeze in a fight before negotiations begin in October, then the 26 Sept date being quoted by BS should fit comfortably into the already-established timetable for a Wilder vs Povetkin fight, which should happen in Jan-Feb 2016. However, if Wilder should incur an injury in his Sept fight, Povetkin would probably get to fight for an interim version of the WBC title, rather than wait around for Wilder.

By the way, there is absolutely no way whatsover that a Wilder vs Povetkin fight is NOT going to a purse bid. Hryunov, Povetkin's manager, made a $23.3M purse bid in April 2013 to make sure the Klitschko vs Povetkin fight took place in Russia, and I am certain he will do the same for this fight.

I wonder what can Wilder will find? WBC will bump some guy from #45 to #14. And there's Wilders next opponent!

Ryabinsky should bluff Haymon into thinking he's gonna bid BIG, put 500k, let Haymon outbid him, have Sasha knock Wilder out in US in 2 rounds and pocket 30% of Haymon's huge bid :rofl

Then why is Deas saying they are not going to sit around and wait on Povetkin?:rofl

It makes no sense for him to even say that.

Wilder should fight Marco Huck next. Huck beat Povetkin.

Huck would never sing options and rematch clauses with Wilder.

Wilder's management knows I would get shattered, so they are avoiding Povetkin as long as possible.

Sounds like team Wilder does not want to fight Povektin. Too late the WBC ordered the match, and 3 months is not a long time to wait for purse bids.

I've said for a while now that I favored Jennings over Stiverne and Wilder.

After his fight with Wlad I think so even more.

Anyone that can eat right hands from Wlad for 12 rounds and actually make him fight at a range and pace he isn't accustomed to for 12 rounds should be favored over Wilder and Stiverne in my opinion. And take away the clinch....

Gotta respect someone with such limited experience doing so well. Imagine if he had started younger....

Szpilka is next. If he gets Szpilka in September he could immediately sign Arreola or Thompson for January thus forcing Potvetkin negotiations to AGAIN be pushed back.

Then...should he come out still champ.... He could schedule unification with Pianeta for next June since unification takes PRECEDENT. LMAO.

He could effectively fight 5X before EVER BEING FORCED TO FIGHT HIS MANDATORY.

    Molina (june)
    Szpilka (September)
Thompson/Arreola so long as its signed before WBC purse bid date. (January)
    Pianeta (June)
    Wlad (OCTOBER)

OR EVEN WBA #1s Oquendo Koyode or Browne.

All b4 ever being forced to fight Sasha in Moscow.

    Lmao lmao Rolflmao
