No chance, Mr London is far too dangerous.

This is one of the first times I've ever heard of a fighter getting bashed because he wants to stay busy

People wait and wait for a fight and they get bashed

They stay busy and they still get bashed. There's just no winning with some of these idiots.

Povetkin hasn't answered, clarified by Wilder's team.

Let the man do his thing. I'm not even sure Povetkin wants Wilder.

Team Wilder should force the WBC to initiate the negotiations with Povetkin. After how Wilder looked against Molina his team should look for the biggest payday they can find. If he wins, he becomes more legitimate to he public and gets paid nicely.
If they go and face another optional opponent it won't bring as much money to the table. And their is significant risk Wilder may lose. It is called prize fighting.

It looks like he plans to avoid any danger at any cost... WBC is there to help. Disgrace!

Stay busy fights are great when their are circumstances impeding the said bout to be made. In this case their are no roadblocks and Povetkin would bring the most money to the fight. Both parties should make this bout next.
To fight another Molina type of opponent is pointless.

I think the purse bids is what will delay this fight but if Wilder doesn't fight him I'll lose respect for him

    That's fair.
I hope they begin negotiations soon. Povetkin is best challenger available at moment and for most money. No reason it shouldn't be made. But if they fear that the fight procedure will drag on and want quick fight first I can live with it as long as it's a legit opponent and not a Another Molina. Takam, Thompson or Arreola I could live with.

I would've thought beating Stiverne would've earned Wilder some more respect. I guess not. Povetkin is a pretty good fighter. If Wilder can beat him, that would huge for his career.

I think Wilder lost the good will he earned defeating Stiverne by fighting a complete no one in Molina and then taking 9 rounds and getting hurt by him before getting job done really dropped his stock again. He's had 35 fights and only one quality name on the ledger. For that volume of fights it's really poor. He needs to start fighting legit top ten opponents or the ridicule will only grow louder.

Clearly setting up the duck, they don't have a choice in regards to the time scale but apparently being 4 months to just negotiate a fight isn't enough they could negotiate it now if they wanted but that's not what they want.

Wilder will likely face another stiff next. Arreola would not be a shock, he looked terrible last time out so will be deemed a reasonably safe opponent.

It's really hard to fight top guys every time out though. Not many fighters do it. His level of opposition has been poor, but people act like the Stiverne fight never happened now. And what if he beats Povetkin and then fights a fringe contender afterwards? Does the win against Povetkin just get negated?
