There's a world of difference between Stiverne and Povetkin; most knowledgeable boxing fans consider Povetkin the number 2 heavyweight around.

Dan rafael Reporting that if Arreola wins his match on July 18th he is the favorite to fight Wilder in September.

Rumors are Arreola is next. If Arreola comes to fight IN SHAPE(for him at least) and MOTIVATED I could see him pulling the upset. If Molina can get inside and hurt Wilder then Arreola is more than capable himself.

Wilder is certainly a winnable fight for Arreloa but these delusions on him coming into a fight 'inshape' just need to stop. An 'inshape' Arreola is a Crusierweight not a Heavyweight. The guy is never going to do that. This will be what Arreola's 3rd chance at the WBC belt? :patsch

Notice what I put afterwards. I know Arreola will never come to fight in what most people consider to be "in shape" but if he comes in weighing in the 230s-240s instead of the 260s he has a MUCH better chance at winning.

Arreola is SHOT, his fight with Harper was fun though. He weathered the storm then gave gassed Arreola a good fight.

If Wilder can survive first 4 rounds he will win handedly.

"I would fight him [Tyson Fury] anywhere," said Wilder. "I'm a traveller, a global fighter, I fight anywhere all over the world that's how you become legendary. You become legendary by not being afraid to go into enemy territory when the time comes or when duty calls.''

    --Deontay Wilder Oct, 2013

I'll applaud him if he sticks to that and heads over to Russia for the Povetkin fight.

But the battle ravaged shell of Arreola's next? That true?

Wilder didn't think very highly of Arreola's two-time surrogate father Stiverne.

''The only guy he has on his resume is Chris Arreola. That's it!! And I got to give my man Ray Austin some credit.. he was 40 something and still was whooping his ass all the way until he got clipped in the 11th round. A guy that was 40 something.. if Stiverne was the real deal he [Shot 40 year old Austin] is not supposed to stay in there that long with him.''

    All true :yep

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

And the American circle-jerk of bums has started. Anyone remember the joke period of fights between Ruiz/Peter/Toney/Rahman. Will we re-live another golden era of US bums now getting title shots out of nowhere? :rofl

Anybody think there is a slim chance of Mansour as a defense? if Arreola doesn't impress? I know Arreola brings the Latino audience, But Mansour could help sell at an Atlantic City casino. AT age 42 Mansour would probably come pretty cheaply for another voluntary defense, and with little hope of an upset.

Not unless Wilder is feeling confident because Mansour is a threat.

The farce that is Deontay Wilder's career continues. It's a shame because if he beat Povetkin he'd genuinely deserve respect, whereas at the moment he's a bit of a joke.

If this 'voluntary' is Briggs, then everyone should disown the WBC.
