In response to team Margo's recent declaration that they wanted to rematch Williams...

    Paul Williams' Manager-Trainer, George Peterson:

"If there was one more round in the first fight, Paul would have knocked him out. Paul offered him a rematch and everytime Paul fight he asks for Margorito again. We've been asking for Margorito for three and a half years. Margorito never mentions Paul Williams. All he has to do is call Paul name. He never does that. He avoids that. Paul asks for him all the time. Paul is asking for him right now."

Good article at the scene, has more interesting info on the situation...

Margo is talking foolish, he knows what time it is. I just hope a fight will come about because of the trash talking going on.

Funny how all of you seem to forget after the first fight Margarito wanted an immediate rematch but Williams and Goosen said he needed to earn his shot, now its Williams who wants the rematch and Margarito whose checking his options..

Williams pulled out the 12th rd, but Tony was throwing back and still landed some good shots. If anyone was close to being knocked out it was the Punisher though. He definitely never had Tony in that kind of trouble throughout the entire fight.

MArgo is nothing but a ducker. He is trying to duck Williams to fight oscar. Hell he was going to fight Zab rather than Clottey until everyone started calling out his managment.

The dude going for the money grab instead of legacy. He is afraid that Paul will end his stardom, and honestly I understand. Paul was able to neutralize his "aggression" and comfortably decision his ass.

Im a PW fan but to be fair to margo i think its ok if margo takes a few other fights before his rematch with PW. He is not ducking PW yet he is just not taking his biggest risk untill he makes some big money first. Remember he took PW instead of Cotto the first time. Just like Mantero said if he doesnt fight PW by the end of 2009 he is ducking and being a *****.

if I were Tony the more they talk the more I would make them wait its obvious that they want a payday, they know the fight was close and seriously if there was one more round I would give Tony a better chance at pulling of the stoppage than paul, for the most part Paul had pitty pat shots.
Let them ****ers keep begging for a fight unless they have a real belt or a solid name under their belt **** em, Margarito has moved foward and come back from that, Williams only created more questions.
Right now Tony is the man and the haters are doing what they do best, I love it.

The solid name under Williams' belt is Margo...and the belt he has is real enough to be out of his reach, seeing as how he lost it to Williams...and Margorito's team has no problem calling him a 7 year world champ off the strength of that title, so you are not making a strong case.

Williams answered questions by moving forward and defeating the person he lost to.

Margo is the one who has not answered questions...he has proven he is a good fighter, but we already knew that...he needs to get Williams out of the way.

You talk a lot about haters but, you seem to be the one letting emotion enter into your dialogue, with a hatred for Paul Williams, even saying f*ck him...it's better to comment on boxing than the "haters"...who seem to be anyone with a strong opinion contrary to yours.

I am a fan of both fighters, and have no problem seeing it as it is.

Read Dan Goosen's latest comments from today...

Where does this logic come from...as a fan, I want to see my favorite fighters clear out and dominate their division...not take "well-deserved, easy fights."

That is pure fanboy ****, and is not conduct becoming of true fight fans.

The fighters earn well deserved rest between bouts, not in the ring against inferior fighters. Especially when they are champions...
