Oh YES . . . Williams has nothing to avenge . . . but Margarito made it big by beating the man on top so he is now bigger than Williams . . . so what's this fuzz about Marg ducking Williams when it's only three weeks after Marg's last fight? Why all of a suddden Williams wanted the guy he has already beaten pronto? Now?

This is BULL**** HYPING. No matter what . . . this rematch will happen because it's for unificaton . . . but people has to wait and give Margo the chance to plan his moves. The guy has gone through 10 consecutive title fights . . . doesn't the guy deserve at least one easy fight before another title fight?

If this is a discussion about who he SHOULD fight then it's Williams hands down if he wants to avenge a loss. I know beating Cotto made Margarito #1 and made him bigger but still Williams beat him before and that will always be mentioned whether people like it or not because Williams is active and is accepting this fight.

If Williams was scared to give Margarito an immediate rematch then he wouldn't have fought him in the first place and wouldn't have considered him again now.

On the first fight Williams has no choice because Marg's has the title and he is the challenger. When he got the title he chose Quintana instead of a rematch.

Now Margarito has something again that Willaims wanted . . . he is on top of the list at 147. :deal

"According to Goossen, when he learned that Cintron had pulled out, he contacted Margarito's promoter Bob Arum, who told him that he was not interested in making the rematch. More than likely, Arum at that point was already laying out the plans for a 2008 mid-year showdown between Margarito and Miguel Cotto. Goossen tried to secure other big names, like Zab Judah and Shane Mosley, but Carlos Quintana was the only fighter who agreed to fight Williams."

The scene for boxing has the entire article. As far as Williams waiting in line, that's the same line many fighters gave Margo when he tried to fight them. It's the same line Oscar is using on Margo right now. I don't know how Oscar and Floyd get chastised for telling him to wait in line, but no one gets on Margo for basically saying the same to Williams. Let's not forget, Williams already beat Margo. Margo should be begging Arum for another fight with Williams. No way Margo can be happy going around calling myself the best WW when another top WW owns a victory over me.

Wrong man, in the first fight it was Margarito who had no choice but to fight his mandatory in Williams or get stripped. He got the title and picked Quintana instead, isn't it similar to what Margarito is doing now?, he beats Cotto, picks the title and seems to be targetting DLH or Clottey instead. Both guys are basically doing the same thing so you can't only blame Williams here.

Very true that Williams wants the #1 spot, but they're even here as well, as much as Williams wants the #1 spot, Margarito wants to avenge a loss.

They're 50/50 when it comes to this discussion as far as I'm concerned. You can't really blame Margarito nor Williams.

A Clottey fight constitutes an easy fight?????????????????????????????????
Or does it constitute a non title fight?

First of all a Clottey fight will not be an easy fight........secondly, it will be another title fight for Margarito.

They just won't get off Margos nuts will they!

Then why are you saying Williams couldn't have fought Margarito? He is the CHALLENGER! :deal

Like I said Margs last 10 fights are all title fights can you blame him for targeting Hoya for Money or Clottey for an easy fight? :D

That's incorrect. Golden Johnson was not a title fight. And many of his title defenses were against fringe contenders.

No matter what . . . these people won't be happy not until they see Margo lose again. And they are thinking Williams will beat him again that they are pushing for that immediate rematch :deal :D

It wouldn't be consistent with this board however.

MANY MANY a people attacked a certain fighter (after fighting title fight after title fight in many different divisions) for doing the same thing.

With that said, as long as the Willaims fight goes ahead, Margo fighting Clottey is not a bad move at all. I mean, I do remember the whole "if Clottey didn't hurt his hand he would have won". So Marg is getting rid of some unfinished business, provided he wins, of course.

I fail to discern how you can equate a Clottey fight, with "easy".

Nopes . . . it is . . . that's for the WBO Intercontinental Welter title. Check the records bud. It may not involved a major title but still a title fight.

I have a strange feeling that Williams is in for the beating of his life.
    I don't know why.......it's just a feeling I have.

It's not an easy fight...however it can be considered easier, at least to Margo...

Take a fight with a guy you already beat...???

Take a fight with a guy you already lost to...???

That is what must be asked when choosing between Williams and Clottey.
