Team Williams: "We Will Test Pavliks China Chin"

I've always felt that Steward badly underestimated KP going into the first Taylor fight.
Miranda was in shock at the end of 3 rounds.
Team Pavlik caught Enzo Calzaghe by surprise.
Rubio and company had "a secret plan."
Peterson could be giving us an honest opinion.
Only Richardson and Hopkins understood exactly what they were dealing with. Everyone else pretty much underestimated KP.

 

got to disagree here. enzo was not caught by suprise he just thought locket was more then he really was and that he had better punching power.. Joe and enzo were never scared of KP. if i belive JOe and enzo said why fight KP if we beat him silly they will just say oh well he was over hyped, theres always a young Lion coming up. first lacy, then Kessler. well i want to go for a ledgend. and that he did. would it of been a bigger fight ? yes but what would of beeen said by main stream had Joe pulled another Lacy? caught to green, KP was one dimensional, too slow, ect. this is why i always posted this fight would never happen between 2 of my Favorite boxers. as joe didn't see the big deal just like with froch he just thought he was going over old ground.

Yea, but he's not going to stand in front of Pavlik, that'd be stupid. I think everything is relative and if we see the plodding Pavlik from the past, Williams should have the dexterity to avoid his bombs.

Bad mistake if Williams tries to trade with Pavlik. Pavlik will rock him. This is the wrong strategy. He should try to win on points and not by KO.

 

Let PW trade with Kelly, we'll see who's the china chinned...LOL

 

It's simply Camp Williams hyping up the fight, trying to sell more ticktes. Good strategy, cuz it seems like this matchup will pack in a crowd (locally and on TV).

I can't predict what will happen, but I think we'll all come away feeling like we saw a damn good fight, regardless of who wins or get KTFO.

I think KP's power will affect PW's gameplan more than he thinks and will therefore have the advantage, but if PW can adapt and fight from the outside, this could go the distance and be a potential FoY.

 

except remember Pavlik wasnt even fighting at MW when he lost to Bernard

 

I was just playing with him but he didn't even bite.

 

The question is how will williams handle pavlik's power? Pavlik can hurt williams and we don't exactly know how well williams can take a punch at 160. Winky is not a big puncher like pavlik is so this should be interesting.

 

Locket was a bum. He couldn't fight his way out of a wet, paper bag. We will hear how you guys will say, "PW better not trade with Pav" until the fight comes around, but PW ain't going to turn into Mr. jab and dance around the ring. He will bring the same attitude nd same skills to the ring...nothing will change. To beat a bigger man, you have to take energy from him, and you do that by being in and out, turning your man, hitting him with jabs, and body shots, and repeat this process all over again.

PW is faster than PAv, has better footwork, and is the better boxer. PAv has a good jab, and the power to hurt PW or end the fight with 1 shot. That is the thrill of this fight. I wish one of you would try to take credit away from PW before they fight while I'm posting on this site. What PW is doing is big. Pav has to clean up his act. After ducking Abraham, fans don't trust him anymore as being a good fighter who will take on anyone.
