So, I took a look at my arms and noticed that my arms are about at 72'' inch reach.

Now, more often then not boxers with a shorter reach a inside fighters (brawlers, swarmers, sluggers)
Now, while I have no issue with trading shots I sort of like to impose my will and show ring generalship.

Any examples of boxers you know who've done this? Please do suggest some fighters I can study :good

There are a million and one things that go into how a person fights and the style they possess. Not just their reach in relation to their height and division weight.

    I stand about 6'0 1/2

I feel like for a heavyweight at 220lbs. I'm anatomically disproportionate
    lol

Use your feet to get in good position.. pretty good way to negate a reach advantage

Prime Welterweight Cotto would be a good example to look at. Obviously Prime Mike Tyson as well. Offhand, you'll need to use angles, some head/upper body movement to slip incoming fire, and your jab to work your way against taller guys.

Andre Ward despite being quite tall for super middleweight has short reach and is almost always at reach disadvantage against his opponents, some of whom have heavyweight reach like Miranda, Dawson, Froch, yet he doesnt brawl with them and uses his technical skills to outbox them.
