 BORING, Khan is very stiff and poor with footwork, if he was relaxed and had a stronger neck (neck extensions) he could take shots easier, his currect stance is poor and too upright, he ends up taking the full shot instead moving back with the shot and taking the sting out. Id personally say tyson fury with the already mentioned 'wince and paw, when about to be hit'.
Pavlik. He doesn't move his feet with his punches. It means that whent he right hand lands it is fine, because the opponent stops full extension, whenever it misses it drags his whole body forward and he has to re set himself before throwing again. I said that ages ago with a big argument with Booradley on the General Forum and said any counter puncher with decent hand speed and angles would savage him. His footwork is AWFUL. And a few fights later he fought Hopkins. Even watching the joke fight with Lockett you get to see it the couple of times the right hand misses. Kell Brook does the lean back with his head, and leaves his chin out and his feet are too close together. He needs to work on his footwork too, he got dropped in one fight simply because his feet were too close and when the punch came he couldn't move out of range and his centre of balance was too narrow. Degale slaps with the left.
frank bruno used to pull his left elbow up as high as his shoulder before he threw the jab. he was a walking statue
I think this thread is just another thread where people have a go at fighters and there is a lot of them threads on here. All fighters have flaws so this thread is pretty pointless and its getting boring how people on here are always having a go on here.
Although it was pointed out by Teddy Atlas first, Allan Green used to look at his feet all throughout the fight.
Fleaman I think Rob means DeLaHoya has got one of the better records as in if you look at his list of opponents whilst he hasn't beaten everyone he's certainly faced everyone
Even if you do that it's nowhere near one of the best records in history. For that you'd need to look at someone like Holman Williams, Ezzard Charles, Kid Gavilan, the likes of Pep, Ray Robinson, Duran, Greb, Archie Moore etc etc And that's without taking into account their ability, which also supercedes Oscar IMO, who no doubt was one of the best of the last 20 years. Although, for his time (as you're saying) he ducked no one, and would've fought Tszyu if he hadn't been stopped by Phillips. So yeah, he was damn good. But if someone's going to say he has one of the best records ever, I reserve the right to have my two cents :good
Yeah he maybe went a little overboard but he still has a very impressive record of opponents (even better by comparison to todays standards)
Well, in comparison to Floyd, yes. But Pac has the same mentality as Oscar, he'll fight anyone. De La Hoya did alright for himself, considering for the majority of his career he was essentially a one-handed fighter.
