I'm hoping Jr hs been working on cutting off the ring. Martinez is a very agile mover, he can dip and duck laterally, that can leave Jr. looking amatuerish is he isn't prepared. Hopefully he can pin him to the ropes, or the corner. I think his chin is good enough to take one to land 2-3. Attack the body A LOT, which should be automatic, as he's probably one of the best today at clubbing the ribs. That will limit Sergio's movement as well. I think we all know Martinez is at his best moving around.

Defensively, he better move that head, and pick off some of Martinez's punches. A study chin is wonderful to have, but should NOT be the basis of the D. It's insurance, not the first line.

So in a nutshell, Jr must cut the ring, attack the body, hell hi Martinez anywhere, body, arm, and of course, his dome. IF he can do this, while not tiring himself out (Martinez is dngerous late), he has a HUGE shot at the upset.

ask Jose suliman for no test. Ask Bob Arum to pay off judges.

Actually the ref stopped the fight. Martinez was still on his feet and aware.

So basically everyone is saying the key will be his jab, which I Agree with. Unfortunately for Chavez, ever since he started training with roach, his jab is basically non existent and that will be his downfall in this fight.

    1. Put on 20 lbs over night

    2. Walk forward, going to the body and mixing in straight rights

    3. Get Sergio on the ropes and go to town

I really want Martinez to pull this off, but I have a feeling Chavez is going to take it to him and soak up any shots in return. The added weight will, no doubt, assist Chavez with his game plan. If he was the same size as Martinez and came into the ring the same size fight night, this would be an entire other ballgame.

Heart: Martinez by UD or late stoppage

Head: Chavez by late stoppage via bodyshot in a classic WAR

his jab will be key, and no doubt Roach will focus on that. However, I think the REAL key is if his added weight fight night, along with his natural chin, will hold up to the hard, quick and sometimes unorthodox shots that Martinez can strafe him with. If he can take some hard shots he didn't see coming and keep pushing forward, Martinez better get on his bike b/c Chavez is going to be coming full steam. His conditioning should be on point if his last few fights were any indication. He seemed to keep a consistent work rate throughout his last few fights.

Has Chavez really been allowed to fight without having a member of his opponents team present when he got his hands wrapped and put on his gloves?
