Orlando Canizales in his prime, amazing fighter.

Sal Sanchez from brawler to boxer/puncher, but when he wanted showed some of the best footwork enough to make Ali proud.

Finito Lopez was Nacho Beristein's greatest pupil. Like Jmm, but with better defense and more powerful offense. Elegant and brutal at the sametime.

James Toney when motivated was unstoppable. Had his own Michigan roll before Floyd was using the shoulder roll. Giant killer.

Duran like Toney when motivated was unstoppable, but relied more on technique in his later years once his reflexes were gone, still good enough to beat a man twice his size and in his prime.

I think folks are misinterpreting technically sound with slick crafty defensive minded fighters who can also dish out offensive damage, those fighters are rare breeds

    Finto Lopez
    Wilfredo Benitez
    James Toney
    Bernard Hopkins
    Ivan Calderon (insane skills)

I liked Arguello. The first fight I recall seeing on tv as a kid was Mancini vs Arguello.

One name comes to mind straight away and that is Kovalev. He is technical good and very exciting to watch. His all round game is very good and it was shown against master boxer Bhop.

I wouldn't say so much technically skilled, more flamboyant. Definitely fun to watch though.

Am I correct at saying that Floyd is much better at the catch and shoot than Whitaker was?

what a load of ****. whitaker stood right in front of his man, pretty flat footed. he might take one step back, but no more than he had to. no way in hell was he considered more of a runner than iv junior. he stood up in front of trinidad with a fractured jaw to the very end.

How could Duran not make this list? He was one of the best defensive fighters there was. Against Barkley, Bernstein said amazingly, "Duran just slipped 6 punches in a row."and Gil Clancy replied his defense is far better than he gets credit for. SRL said the same thing and Palomino who fought both Benitez and Duran said they were easily the two best defensive fighters he's fought and said Duran was the best all around fighter he ever fought.

Hard not to include SRL and SRR as well.
