Hi Stevie. Not sure I have seen this pairing before, nonetheless a very interesting match up, we have the iron boned, teak tough, battle hardened Lewis up against the silky smooth skills of Napoles, both were possessed of very good chins, class leading in fact, each could and did go the distance, in long enduring battles, so no issues with stamina, on balance Napoles was prob the harder puncher, the kid looked like a volume puncher, rather than a one punch ko artist, unlike Napoles, that said Jose would generally throw in clusters to achieve the KO or knockdown, not ( for me ) an easy go to, Napoles is without doubt my fav fighter, but would he be able to contain Lewis , would his suspect brows hold up, not sure, maybe, just maybe, Lewis would survive the harder punches coming his way, and rough house Napoles enough to open up the already scarred eyebrows of the Cuban, the Kid regularly took on full blown MWs with success,so Napoles would hold no fears for him. You got me buddy, heart Napoles, head Lewis, hopefully wiser and more lateral thinking posters will take my hand, and lead me to who they think will win, and expertly point out why.... stay safe hombre.
Hello there Mike Good analysis and scene setter from you. I too have difficulty in choosing a winner here. One thing's for certain though,it would have been an excellent fight.
I suppose it depends how Jose's skin holds up under the Kid's incessant barrage. Skills wise I would give Napoles the edge but feel Lewis' rough house tactics could open several cuts pretty quickly. If we are imaging this fight in Lewis' era then I think he wins. If in Jose's then I think he will win a narrow points win, or possibly by DQ?
