One a tall, slick minimum output boxer with excellent defence

The other a short pressure fighter with a high output and energy intensive style and not so great defence.

Whether your opinion is that he beat Canelo or not is irrelevant, however the Canelo fight is something to consider since GGG has never had such a tough fight like that. I don't recall GGG ever taking so many clean power punches to the face and especially the body. Perhaps at his age he probably feels getting hit the way he did is not worth it anymore, especially since legacy fights seem to not be on his radar and the only thing that seem to be motivating him are mega paydays which only Canelo can offer.

Being past your prime is not always about Age, as we have seen with fighters like Fernando Vargas and Erik Morales, two fighters past their primes before even hitting 30. Then we have fighters like JMM, Pac, Mayweather, Hopkins who are competeing and beating the elite when they were well into their late thirties.

Sometimes being past prime is psychological and it has to a lot to do with heart or the lack of. It seems that physically GGG is as healthy as ever, what he might lack is the heart, the heart to endure punishment or the he may not have the same self belief of himself. HBO told him he was an unstopple KO force, only to not suddenly not get any KOs as soon as he fought top opposition, especially if he considers Jacobs was KTFO by Pirog and dropped by Mora.

Canelo got one of the great chins in boxing imo,there’s only two ways this gos imo either Canelo wins easy or Golovkin gets stuffed in another close fight.
Golovkin knows this and let’s say it’s obvious Golovkin wins by three or four rounds he still only gets a draw as they not gonna let Canelo have another loss on his record.
