Teddy loves the sound of his own voice.

You know, when you have to lie to make a point, its best not to make that point. Kills your credibility. Makes you look like a joke, and its hard to take your arguments serious.

It's not about his height so much as it is about his weight. He walks around at 175 to 180. Look at Qawi, he was 5'5". Canelo might be an inch or two shorter than the average middle weight but he is wide as the back end of a city bus. He is not a natural 154 pounder.

Good question, not entirely sure. I hope he doesn't play the A side card too much, as in challenge fighters at higher weights while putting unfair weight stipulations on them just cos he can.

If you want Callums Smith's belt, let him weigh in what ever he likes as long as it's at the Championship Limit

Won a close fight is hardly being humiliated

    ...regardless

I can't listen to him. He's unhinged.. He must have tourettes.. Keeps having these weird, unprompted, shouty outbursts every 5 minutes.. Goes off an 15 philosophical tangents all the time too..

I'm not sure he's ever put a weight restriction for the official weight limit in a championship fight.

The times he asked for 155 they were non-title fights.
The two times he did fight at 155 in championship fights it was his opponents who requested the catchweight.

Not that it would have made any difference but I thought I read Fielding had a next day limit in their secondary title fight? I might be wrong

I think he may have had a 10 lb limit the next morning like Jacobs did, and like the IBF rule demands. But as far as the official weigh in I don't think there have been any limits.

While I tend to not think of Canelo as a great fighter... basing it on him not stopping Jacobs, a guy who Golovkin didnt stop either, seems a bit senseless... which is fairly typical from Teddy, whose more mouth than he is brains.

Canelo is not even 30 yet... all greatness talk is ridiculously premature, imo.

Also... Canelo is not a natural 154lber. That term gets missused and abused quite a bit. Right now hes a genuine middleweight. Meaning, hes a natural middleweight.

Saying someone is a natural 'insert weightclass here' implies they belong in that weightclass but moved up for reasons other than outgrowing the weightclass.

    Canelo clearly outgrew 154.

You remember right, there was a 10 lb rehydration clause, same with vs Jacobs.

Lost a lopsided fight by the judges scoring criteria.
The business end and politics in boxing called it a close win on the cards but that doesn’t tell the story of what happened in the fight.

Hagler and Jacobs were paid to cooperate in the ring.

He’s spot on. Canelo isn’t a pound for pound fighter or a great. He lacks that next level, I’m a big fan and I always look forward to his fights but he’s not a really special fighter.
