    He kinda was.
I had him winning the first golovkin fight, but several people have given canelo tough fights. Including much smaller and some old guys.
So really not that big of a deal.

Jacobs? Good win, but very close also.

GGG is a borderline great, he is definitely an underrated boxer but massively overrated as a pressure fighter.

If he senses any significant firepower from his opponent, he is very cautious.
He didn't forget to throw to canelos body, he was hesitant to.

Atlas loves to smell his own farts.

GGG was a bit overrated before Jacobs fight, and if it wasn't for that performance golden boy wouldn't have made the Canelo fight happen. Plus Golovkin is getting old...he doesn't have the Mayweather of Hopkins style to carry on fighting into his 40s. With that he still clearly won the first Canelo fight and at least won a draw in the second.

I guess Teddy better get ready for the hate mail he is gonna receive from these computer chair corner men who would love to carry GGG's jockstrap in their teeth. Golovkin has 1 ATG on his resume and he loss to him 2x and please save me the judges were bought crap. This guy played you gumps into believing he was the goods.
Chavez Jr. has done more at 160 and he was always a half-assed fighter.

Even if he beat Canelo clearly both times that wouldn't make him a great middleweight. His resume is crap

The pressure fighting Mexican style was manufactured by Abel. He would've done better in high level fights if he had stuck training his original boxer puncher style. A bullying style doesn't work against fighters with good durability and defense, which is why he resorts to purely boxing against Jacobs and Canelo. However he trains the entire camp to bully and throw hard single or double punches while neglecting pure boxing.

From this perspective yes he is overrated because I dont believe hes in the class of either of those guys and ill add a couple other names of recent times that I put ahead of him and that's Hopkins and Jones Jr. GGG is without a doubt a formidable and great MW but hes not the best ever like some claimed and hes not in the league with these guys but he deserves his respect as one of the greats but just not top tier level of greats.

Canelo lost to Lara and Trout and the much smaller Mayweather close fight with Cotto almost got ko'd by Cotto's older bro according to many on here canelo ain't **** yet the monster GGG couldn't stop him

No offense , because he was a great fighter with a great record but I have seen a lot of Momzon's fights and he doesn't exactly dazzle with his talents. Pretty sure you would rather tune in to watch GGG, everyday of the week. If he was still around we could ask Howard Cossell.
Monzon has a terrific record but let's get real.

Uhhh...I was talking out of my ass it seems. He beat Brian Vera? Maybe I should omit that part, I went too far. Golovkin is millions of levels above that undisciplined pile of garbage.

Jr has done more than beating Jacobs, beating Lem, beating Murray, and drawing with Canelo?

    Really?
