Thurman has had an inordinate amount of down time over the years and looked like crap last fight. This is what makes this fight intriguing. Roach has been jawing alot to try and goad Thurman into a fire fight, as Pac will not be able to outbox him.
As a Thurman fan this is BS. Keith won't take the type of chances to land on Pac that would give him an opportunity to win by knockout. If he sees he can maneuver and pot shot Pac, he'll do that and win a decision. Keith is a smart fighter and won't go to war unless he has no choice but to.
I watched the full face off on Fox Sports, and it was odd how they tried to act like Thurman is tihs toe-to-toe offense-first fighter. Now granted compared to Pac's last opponent AB he is more offensive-minded than that, but he's not exactly the offensive juggernaut they were making him out to be. Thurman has always been a safety first fighter who uses his footwork to get out of harms way and his range to outpoint you. Which was why it was so surprising that he got caught like he did in his last fight. I think he's gonna need to be on his bike early on to neutralize Pacquiao's a speed and aggressiveness. Pacquiao is not the kind of fighter you want to stand in front of. I would expect Pacquiao to start out as the aggressor with Keith trying to potshot him from the outside, then maybe as the fight heats up Keith may be more willing to stay in the pocket, but I highly doubt it will be the kind of toe-to-toe war they were acting like it was gonna be. Maybe it will be though who knows.
