Atlas is a ****ing *****, a complete ****ing ****. I have never heard anything positive about him from ANYONE in boxing. Not a single ****ing thing.

Congratulations for pointing out nothing but Atlas's negative features. Nice to see an impartial take on a trainer. :good

I saw Atlas get into it at a weigh in for Holyfield v Tyson 1 where he had Moorer box against Francois Botha.. i caught it on camcorder actually, who was that fight with.. Atlas got battered badly... about 20 minutes before weigh in... Also Moorers manager Davmos was hurt in a bar room brawl the day before that fight also.. downtown on Fremont street ...

I look at the results of what happens to the fighter on a pro level. I actually look at the fighters' performances with Atlas, and without Atlas.

His track record is not good, and unlike other people, I actually watched the whole Moorer-Holyfield in full to see that Moorer was lazy (or cautious because of the 2nd round KD) throughout damn near all the fight.

People like to defend him by saying "oh, he likes to work with head cases".

Well that would be fine and dandy if we actually saw the increased performance of the fighters. Moorer fought his heart out and with passion against guys like Cooper (Steward), and Holyfield II (Roach), but was a lazy ass with Atlas. Briggs basically self-destructed against Wilson with Teddy in the corner, but fought like a true warrior against Lewis with a different trainer. Where is this alleged "amazing motivator" that we see?

And sorry, I don't trust the "moral conscience" of a guy who constantly cries out for a national commission and talks about how bad mismatches are, yet manages a fighter and puts him in numerous mismatches to pad his record.

He knows the sport obviously, but he is not a very good trainer on the pro level.

As opposed to the Nachos, Stewards, Roachs, Goosens of the world.

Hell, among former Tyson trainers, Aaron "put the condom on the eye" Snowell has done better work.

    No.

Steward trained Hearns from a very young age. I think when he first walked into the Kronk, Steward was his trainer from then on.

The Marquez brothers were trained by Nacho from a young age.

All of them have either trained great fighters from the start, took over a fighter where the fighter made changes and performed better than ever in their careers, or both.

    Teddy Atlas did neither.

I was actually curious...I def think manny is better or is a great trainer...but as a trainer myself u can know an awfull lot but if u don't get great fighters walking through that door u will never be as good as nacho or roach...I mean I am pretty sure I could have ran BHOPS training camp to beat pavlik...these guys get alot of credit for taking fighter that have been trained by someone else there whole life then they monopolize the training business and have all the fighters...why is buddy mcgirt for instance better than jack loew...if he were in KP's corner would it have been different....and how bout jt with ozell and with manny...what was the difference

i am just saying the trainers u have never heard of are def some of the best...nothing is harder than building a fighter....fine tuning is much easier
