Teddy Atlas fired from ESPN commentating for telling the truth! Too much pressure

    Just watched his rant after the GGG fight and wow, I don’t think people understand the balls it takes to say that on TV. That’s what you call passion for boxing.

    Overall I like Teddy, boxing is all about personalities and that’s what’s he is if not anything else.

    Anyone who makes waves against the establishment and exposes the internal corruption along with the swine lining up at the troth get marginalized or removed entirely from the sport. People like Merchant and Atlas get shoved out the door for the Kellerman's and Stephen A. Smith's of the World.

    That's true.

    I also think Top Rank had to do with Atlas being removed, since they started a new contract with ESPN

    I watched his rant on ESPN after the GGG Canelo fight.. It was funny as hell but he told the truth.. Then he also almost lost it during the Pac Horn broadcast so.. I guess you have to be full of sh**t to actually be a good commentator or work for a sports broadcast team..

    years ago, Teddy was suspended for threatening an ESPN employee.
    Maybe they used his work history/reprimand as another excuse to release him from commentating on the air.

    I'm surprised that Atlas has refrained from publicly calling ESPN "corrupt" and/or "part of the problem." He must need the paychecks.

    As they say in wrasslin: he went into business for himself.

    I'm torn though, because while I always found him obnoxious and incredibly biased, characters like him are hard to replace.

    This is the number from "The Fight Game" Jim Lampley 702-486-2575. As reported, Byrd who scored the Golovkin/Alvarez fight 10 rounds for El Pollo and only 2 rounds for Golovkin will not be penalized at all! Bob Bennett, the boxing commissioner lied live on HBO, claiming that Byrd was a great judge and had never had a bad card until the Golovkin/Alvarez fight! A total lie! Byrd has been corrupt for years. Jim Lampley said that if fans do not do something now, the corruption in boxing will continue! Bob Bennett was also called out by HBO for lying about the last Rigo fight when Rigo held his opponent's head and hit him three times in a row, then clearly after the bell landed a left hook and knocked his opponent out! Bob Bennett lied live on HBO, said their video man told him that the punch was clearly before the bell while the video was being replayed! Later the decision was changed, but only after HBO proved him wrong! The same Bob Bennett who refused to watch the replay of Kovalev/Ward when Ward clearly landed three low blows in a row to Kovelev's testicles!. Call the number and complain! I will do it tomorrow! If you have it on your DVR, then watch "The Fight Game" with Jim Lampley which was shown right after the fights!
