While it's easy to question why HBO might invest 25% of their 2011 budget into Bradley and Alexander, I really doubt the guarantee affected anything about Devon's performance.

He just wasn't ready for Bradley, and I knew it going by not only his performance vs Kotelnik but his attitude leading in to the fight with Tim. He spent too much damn time talking about Khan and didn't do **** to properly prepare how to deal with a dirty fighter. He and his corner reacted the whole time like Tim did something different than what he does every damn fight.

Devon didn't throw it in because he had another guaranteed payday, he just wasn't ready for the fight and what it'd entail. It's an honest mistake and one he paid for. I don't think the guarantee had anything to do with it unless he's a real punk, and I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt on that one.

The same reason why Teddy won't every get big... He is just too honest. Brutally so.

To HBO being smart, maybe they are trying to build the HBO name and lock fighters up? They could do that with their actions though by reaching out after great performances even losing ones.

In all fairness. People been bad mouthing HBO for the pass two years. It's a good thing. HBO has always been a boxing station. They where slipping a little bit. Now they come back in full force which I know they could.
