Yeah, I didn't like how he was saying to Grant "I don't want to see your fears and insecurities hold you back" or something like that when the cameras were on and Grant was in the ring.

Manny Steward commented, in a nice way, that Atlas was putting on a show for the cameras.

Couldn't he have gave his Tony Robbins speech in the locker room when the cameras weren't on?

I'm talking about at the pro level, compared to other big name trainers.

I don't doubt his knowledge, but his track record with fighters and their performances with/without him is another story.

I'm sure he's sound with the basics and technical aspects of the sport.

I am glad some remember how Atlas treated Grant live on the air. I think he was showing off at Grant's expense.

I agree with what Teddy said also.
Just becuase Cotto kept fighting doesn't mean it was the SAME Cotto as BEFORE.
    And Clottey gave out.

And I didnt catch him picking Pac.
That is a ****ING CURSE! FRAK. Someone hire an excorsist to get that removed from PAC

He does say some dubious things, like that Mike Tyson weighed 190 lbs of pure muscle at the age of 12 ...

He made some very valid points and I agree on what he said on the Cotto-Clottey fight, Cotto did look vunerable and Clottey could have and should have won the fight.

Clottey is known to take his foot off the gas and have a shitty workrate. + his power is nothing special. He fought to the best of his ability against Cotto but Cotto is a better fighter, end of

    Teddy has a screw loose.

He threatened a young Mike Tyson with a guy. Later (admitted in his biography) he took a gun to Donny Lalonde's apartment intending to kill Lalonde for firing him.

Notice how few fighters have stayed with Atlas for any length of time. He had moderate success with Moorer (a fighter who also had success before Atlas came along) and that's about it.

As a commentator, he's a broke record. He goes into fights with his mind made up about certain things and no matter what happens in the fight, he simply can't give up on his original notion. If he thinks a guy has to get inside to win and the guy is boxing the other guy's ears off from the outside, he won't concede the point or get off his original supposition.

All that aside, I think he's fine on ESPN2-level fight coverage.

Teddy may have a lot of character flaws, sound positively bored in commentary and an attention ***** who bullies his fighters pychologically, but the guy knows his boxing, he comes from a place and time when women gave birth to men and no not nicaragua

My problem is the sport needs a cheerleader, not a **** talker who seems like he hates the sport more than likes it.

He's always pointing out all the flaws. It's bad.

    EXACTLY.

I just watched the Woods vs Cloud fight and Teddy 'the idiot' had Cloud winning by 12 ROUNDS and all he did was big up Cloud and critisize Woods.
He even scored round 8 10-8 Cloud even though it certainly wasn't.

LOL, I had Cloud by 5 and EVERY judge had it 4 rounds to Cloud.

I hope to god that Atlas is NEVER allowed to judge a fight as he is clearly senile and knows NOTHING about scoring a fight.

Teddy is incompetent as proved by his TERRIBLE scoring.

Atlas, you are indeed an idiot!

ok letz not pretend that teddy dont come off like a big goof sometimez because the man is a obvious jackass

he also catchez lotz of stuff and tellz it like it is whenever he is seeing it clearly

he gets excited too easliy when he getz hung up on these narrow points that he givez way too much credit regardless to them being correct and he getz too excited so he keepz repeating them over and over and after a few roundz of hearing him he getz really annoying like he is expecting the fighter that is getting beat up to take his advice telepathically and stop getting the shyte beat out of him
