http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb9LGFbn_bs Pretty inetersting stuff, he feels that Cotto has been damaged physically and psychologically ever since the fight with The Cheater and I can't say I don't agree with him. He says it at the 24 second mark. He also said he saw evidence of that in his fight with Clottey. I feel Cotto has the heart, no matter what.
I'm going to have to disagree with Teddy on this one. The only thing I saw in the Clottey fight was a fighter overcoming adversity and keeping his championship belts. Clottey gives any one-eyed Welterweight a hell of a fight.
That's life in boxing in the 21st century... 1 loss and you're considered done. Even by the "experts". God only knows how Shane Mosely made it this far.
Cotto has simply stepped up the comp. Margo, Mosley, and Clottey are all very good fighters and all gave Cotto very tough fights. Before that he didn't face anyone on that level. The closest one was Zab who also gave Cotto a good, tough fight. Cotto was not ruined by the Margo fight. Throw him in with a guy like Quintana today and he would probably do alot better than the first time.
I agree with Teddy, Cotto isn't the same. Pacquiao will dominate Cotto because Cotto is not all there anymore, I won't say shot or damaged goods, but he isn't the same Cotto before the Margarito fight. Pacquiao doesn't cherry pick, but he has great timing.
I can't say Teddy doesn't know what he's talking about, but in my opinion one tough fight doesn't make a fighter damaged goods.
Co-sign. I forgot about Atlas's predictions always turning out to be the opposite. But I do feel that Cotto is not the same fighter.
