i took a poly for a job interview . . lied about smoking weed in the past, and lied about stealing supplies from prior jobs. i passed the poly with flying colors
Thanks, you aren't the first person to suggest this kind of thing and I do appreciate the votes of confidence... The problem I have with grassroots DIY stuff like that (blogging, Internet radio etc) is that even though its use has become widespread and even aaccepted to a degree as legitimate - if distinctively 'alternative' - media, it still won't be taken as seriously, at least in our lifetimes IMO, as working your way up the conventional ladder of going to school for broadcasting and starting at the bottom covering the bush leagues of sports you don't even like. Even if such a venture led to a successful position (which ESPN2 would be, let alone Showtime or HBO) - and that would be a lot of hard work and free time sacrificed 'on spec' for an extreme long-shot maybe of getting noticed and employed by a mainstream outlet - there would always be the resentful grumbling about not having paid any dues. Hell, look at the flack Kellerman still takes after so many years. Now, getting in via the side-door as color analyst having finally done something as either a pro competitor or trainer (neither of which dreams I've yet given up on, with commentating being the last ball in the juggle) - that I could feel okay about. :yep
Here is the scoop with Tyson and Teddy,,,, Cus could CONTROL Tyson because Tyson RESPECTED Cus. Thus Cus could SHOUT at Tyson, Cus could even man handle Tyson in a way. When I say man handle I don't mean toss Tyson around, I mean when training if Tyson was doing something INCORRECT Cus would often grab hold of Tyson stopping him in mid practice and point out to him how his position was crap. Cus could treat Tyson this way because of the BOND they had created prior. Cus had control of his EGO and Mike RESPECTED this and thus did not perceive Cus as a THREAT to his fragile EGO even when Cus would get in his FACE, instead, Tyson RESPONDED to this from Cus. Whereas when Teddy comes along, well Teddy wants that same RESPECT from Tyson. Teddy wants to be BOSS. Teddy wanted Tyson to BOW DOWN when Teddy interrupts Tyson telling him to PAY ATTENTION. When Tyson would listen to Teddy but not BOW DOWN to him Teddy would RIDE Tyson thereafter. Riding him by continuing to make his POINT over and over simply because Tyson didn't bow down to him during training. What do I mean by BOW DOWN? I mean Tyson would not look Teddy in the eye after Teddy yelled at him and nod and look away essentially saying, "Yes I get your point, your right, I am wrong, sorry I will pay attention" ,,,Tyson didn't like the way that Teddy was so HIGH on himself. It gets abrasive as what Teddy preaches is not to become too high and mighty yet he often teaches this by becoming too high and mighty in a hypocritical foolish way. Thus I am not claiming Teddy does not know his stuff, I am claiming the way he TEACHEs his stuff is not EFFECTIVE with all types of personality. The best part of Cus was the RESPECT he commanded without a unbalanced hypocritical EGO getting in the way and confusing his teachings and wisdom. Teddy does not have that same ABILITY. Teddy is simply not aware of how much of a jackass he is so naturally he is going to come down extra on Tyson. Look at Teddys points, Tyson hid between walls when he was 12 and talked with a lisp? What a moron.
Right. What would have done Cus if he had a 11 year old niece grabbed and threatened with **** by Tyson ? If Atlas hadn't intervened, Tyson would be just another pedophile rotting in jail. atsch
Tyson probably is manipulative and cons people. It's been said by more than a few people. Atlas is no saint himself. He loudly decries mismatches in boxing but has no problem putting his own fighter in there with mismatched opponents. His ego and attention-seeking ways came across as pretty embarassing for Michael Grant, as Emanuel Steward pointed out. He waits til they are in the center of the ring and the cameras are on to give Grant an "inspirational" speech by telling him "oh I don't want to see this fear in you, blah blah blah" when he could have easily told him this away from the cameras. He was an overrated trainer anyway and obviously has some issues, being as he said he actually plotted to MURDER Donny Lalonde.
:huh What?? he was champion of the world, one of the hardest punchers ever he is definite ATG and you call him full of ****, he has some funny quotes but he knows boxing much better than Atlas. Atlas wanted to be tough guy confronting him and got laughed at and sent for sandwich :rofl Tyson and Foreman are much greater than Atlas who is irrelevant in boxing history he cant call Tyson phony.:good
Yeah I'm sure he actually wanted to fight big George :rofl he just wanted to look cool and Foreman totally destroyed him with "go get me a sandwich or something" - I just love this quote
You can be a great athlete and still be full of it. Come on, Foreman is the guy who claimed "after a few years, I finally got over the Ali loss and stopped making excuses". Then in his autobiography in the 1990s, he again strongly claims he was drugged (by trainers he again worked with in the 90s) and that he was about to knock out Ali but he got distracted by his friend in the audience whom he saw rooting for Ali. Then a few years ago, he again claimed he was drugged! He said he would have KO'd Lewis in 2 rounds if he were in his prime. Then after Lewis beats Tyson (2002 version, like that's a big deal), Foreman goes "Lewis is the greatest HW ever!" Foreman is indeed full of it or out there, great fighter or not.
